Only one banner per faction?

I've been surfing through lots of posts, but alas, I couldn't find a straight answer on this subject.
Is it possible to make vassals use the same banner as their liege? Swadian lion, rhodok bear etc. I've been studying the script that sets kingdom banners, but I'm not a pro modder.
