Only half my horses koined battle

Was ambushed by 99 troops,  i had 54  so thought what the heck,  ill beat them,

But on the battlefield, only 3 of my horses turned up and 11 troops,  the enemy came racing towards me with 15 horses  and wiped out all my men,

How did that happen, where did the rest of my troops go.

The units that are higher on party list have higher chance of entering combat. Go to party screen and move them higher up if oyu plan to use them a lot.
You had a problem because:
1. your mounted units were low on the party list.
2. they would eventually come in as reinforcements. but you probably got knocked off before that.

There is also the factor of battlefield advantage; it sounds like to me that you haven't invested many points into the tactics skill. Your enemy may have had very high tactics in addition to him out numbering you. Thus, he will have more troops when the battle commences than you. This could be remedied in three ways.

1. Invest in tactics skill.

2. Always outnumber your opponent.

3. Use the battlesizer mod and set it high enough so that 1000 troops can come on screen at once, rendering one or two troops in the enemy's advantage null.

You could always just deny responsibility.

Or you can simply use Party interface and move your mounted units up and keep your infantry on the bottom while keeping battle size to the low settings.  This will ensure that all your mounted units will start and you will be able to take out enemy cavalry before your reinforcements arrive.

it can have something too do with this battle advantage thing. the one with highest battle advantage have more troops than the one with lowest.
you can see the battle adv advantage when you enter the battle on the lower left part of the screen.

Uhhmm, there's something I don't understand in the battle advantage & battle size though.

I have set battle size = 199
I have a party of 120 men
and attack a party of 40 men.
At the start of the battle message says my battle advantage = 5 (i invested a bit in tactics)

BUT!
on the field there are 40 enemies and just 96 of my men! where did the others go to? pic-nic??

Yeah really, my crappy computer can hardly handle a battle of 100.
