Hi,
I am running Vista64 Service Pack 1.  I have read and tried everything in the thread here.

This screenshot will prove I set my variables right and set my export directory correctly for Python 2.6.

As a matter of fact, when I move the test module onto my desktop (out of the program files folder), it does build correctly and I have successfully tested Native like this.

The problem is, in order to test any change, I have to copy and paste this entire folder (from my desktop) back into my modules folder and then launch the game.  I should not have to do this.  How do I make Vista realize I am not a hacker destroying my own machine and allow me (an Administrator) to write to my program files?

I do not want to have to go through this each time I test something.

Well, do what i did...
I moved the whole Mount&Blade folder to my desktop, and changed the module_info....
and it worked like a charm.

y could look at my post:

Those errors have nothing to do with the python variables. If you had a problem with the variables, python would not be found.

I was just editing this in:

You need to copy native into your module's folder, THEN build the mod.

The permission problem is because the files doesn't exist, there is nothing to get permission for.

Vista sometimes wont allow programs to write in your Program Files folder. Move it somewhere else

Well, if you look at his mod folder, you see it is empty. He needs to copy his native folder there then rebuild the mod.
Vista is unrelated.

And to the OP, you have followed the solutions of a different problem, there is no "python not recognized" errors here.

Sheriff, i had the same prob... i just moved my m&b folder to the desktop... and no it's nothing about admin rights...

I never said it was, but he has no module files, it won't work no matter what until he places them there.
