Offspring Names

So I recently got married and 'did the deed' with my wife. I asked her how she was faring, and she said that if the child was a boy, he would take my name, and if it were a girl, it would take her name. Is there no way to name your offspring? If so, how?

Other than a morale and relationship boost, there really isn't anything that having a child does in-game. The only way 'interaction' is a small dialogue where you ask your wife "How are my children?", and she says, "We have x girls and x boys. They're doing well."
