Yeah. How would I go about unwrapping it properly? The texture is simple, took me five minutes to make, but the uv just sucks. :grin:

In theory, there's no solution without a catch.

If even distribution is the aim, a geodetic dome would be better than a sphere. Looking at your texture you should give it a try.

Aye, a sphere that can unwrap each of its hexes onto a single hex will allow you to keep the detail high, but the texture size low.

I believe we had discovered one of the secret artists of P&F. Awesome job. Also, reminded me of how beatiful P&F is going to be by taking a look to the sea once more.
 
sorry guys,it's not Pirates & Fishmod.It is for my own multiplayer naval mod that I've been developing on past months,you will see a thread soon :smile:

Oh,and the polycount is arround 20k...pretty much I know...

20 k should be allright for such a detailed nice looking model. Or are you going to have 200 ships on a map ? I don't think so...

Moving along, playing around with the tonemapper a bit, still trying to create realistic looking skin:

Ignore the Justin Timberlake hairdo :grin:, I need to make a custom one in wings 3d.
