Looks good, but many of the edges are way too soft. Try to make them look less soft.
Yeah, its mostly just practice after having been out of the modeling scene for a year. Its definitely a work in progress but im surprised it came out decent after my hiatus. Of course once I reinstall photoshop and zbrush it will look less like a marshmallow.

Its 5 am. Just an update on the other side of the gun before sleep before I fall face first into the keyboard and delete everything with my forehead.

Today I got back to modding. I started working on improving Native's trees to make the world seem more 3D and immersive. This is what I came up with! There's only one tree model, which has been resized and vertex shaded to make all the variation. Of course I will be adding more variation of actual models etc later, but I wondered if anyone had any critique.

Also, for a green ground texture like that, how should I go about making a realistic mountain texture to match, or does anyone have any textures they'd be willing to share? I've been trying to find a nicely matching one for a while now. Let me know what you think to these trees though, first.

I think they look much more scenic, even if they seem a bit stylised. I really, really like them - they remind me of the trees in Adventure Time

Thanks!

And yeah, I'm trying to go for a stylised look, the kind of vibrant and colourful style for the world map. Still working on the mountains, though :/

If I were you I'd look into fiddling with the existing mountain texture rather than using a whole new one (or at least incorporating the old one into the new texture as an opaque layer).

Looks good, but you can try to use the Native textures, because that's what most people play on. Merging this mod over Native would make the new trees look somewhat out of place.

I did this and it worked as I intended, thanks!
