Low poly cyberpunkish character (1200 tris complete). Still needs texturing for the hands, pants, boots and some hair. I don't think I will finish it though, I grew sick of this bald guy  .

Also, the leather didn't really looks enough like leather  :???: . I don't know if I need more reflections or definition...any thoughts on it? The texture was made using my recently purchased tablet  .

wish i could texture like you  maybe im just doing it wrong. i wish photoshop had an option to paint directly on 3d objects

Did the graphics tablet help a lot?

A lot indeed. I can't even believe I used to try to draw stuff with a mouse! It took me long enough to do it, but buying a tablet is a necessity when it comes to texturing. This is kind of a crappy texture, but I still felt a lot of improvement being able to draw stuff like folds and creases... I see a shiny happy future for me and my tablet  .

That would be the best feature ever, though I'm afraid that's impossible to achieve. "Render to texture" plugins for Zbrush and 3ds do a similar thing, but when you are making low poly "gamey" stuff is always easier to paint than to model something detailed and then cut thousands of polygons  :???:

actually, in Zbrush you can paint textures right on the model as you can in Bodypaint, which is a standalone texturing program usually sold along with Max or Cinema 4D..

I've tested both of them, and i find them to be hard to learn, and i miss my brush options in ps. zbrush=whaa? cinema4d=ffs do what i tell you.
I'm sure they're great if you learn them, but i still think the brushes and filters in photoshop are superior.
i tested ps cs3 extended, you can edit textures there and after you save see it directly on the model. i have a dual core system with 4gigs of ram and a pretty mean graphics card, and its still painfully slow :\

Really? I always had the impression that Zbrush whole buzz was to draw details onto the model. Anyway, I will search on this bodypaint thing. Never heard of it and it sounds absolutely interesting

Zbrush can do loads of stuff, details, textures, normal maps. It's pretty versatile.
Great model by the way EG. The black parts look like suede to me. Maybe it's not intended, but it looks good.

They're a good investment. You don't have to go for a big one, A5 ones are fine.
Sometimes they're better, since smaller arcs are easier to draw than larger ones.

don't go for a smaller than A5 though. And don't buy volito  if you're about to buy a wacom, buy Intuos.

nice cup mirethei

has i realy hated the eretic siege tower that I made for sh2 mod, I made a new and a thousand times better

i forgot to remove a part for yous to be able to see the intrior

Haven't been doing much, but today I did this low poly "gamey" head as pratice for 3ds max (I'm getting the hang of this messy program btw  ) and for continuation of my low-poly studies . 768 tris, 512x512 texture in a non-fancy rendering with just anti-aliasing and shadows:

lovely!

Long time no see guys, but at last I got myself back to work with wings, and here's the result. My first helmet ever, enjoy, and tell me something instructive about it, please.

Here we go.

Not perfect work, but cause it's my first helmet model I'm pretty pleased with it, though I think I made something wrong with the neckguard, it looks odd... but I was too lazy to redo it. Can't do the textures with gimp. ****, gotta get my photoshop right away.

Nice work there guys, you all. I'm a big fan of that mug, Mirathei. Freakin' cool.

Well.
if you ignore the fact that who uses it will kill the girl he is kissing it is very beatyful.

Lol DarkAnd I didn't think it from that point of view.

But wait a minute - that helmet sure is a helmet of a bad guy - and bad guys don't kiss girls, do they? Thanks anyway. I think I'll try to make the textures and post the model here again when it's finished. No high hopes for my succeed, though. We shall see.
