Of Rescued Prisoners

At the moment when we rescue prisoners they just run around, which seems a bit odd to me

So i have an idea - When the four ways inn is properly made up...why not have all rescued prisoners travel to there? and say when they arrive make the military units available to hire again (ala Tavern style) and just remove civilians

Just seems a bit more useful than having groups of 3/4 farmers walking around that i dont want

Or alternatively why not be able to recruit them...but as your own personal warbands, not under your control but have them walk around like a swadian patrol or something attacking river pirates and what not then if you recuse more prisoners you can add more warbands/carry the troops to existing ones.

Of course this serves no real gameplay purpose but i think it'd be fun none the less

Those rescued prisoners - I mean the ones we don't recruit to join us in our war party - I've often felt are signs of a land torn apart by war, bandits, and raiders - so to me, it's natural to see them on the move.

Hell, it's the only sign that Calradia's inhabited by anyone most of the time. So I, for one, am not too big on the rescued gathering anywhere. They can be useful distractions to Dark Knights at times.

(I get the impression from your post that you're not hiring your rescued prisoners whether farmer or knight but it's hard to be certain from your post. You hire them by capturing them, if you're not already doing so.)

Having our own warparties not under our control seems contradictory; in what way would they be our own then? Just asking, I don't know.

It might be a way of starting our own faction eventually so there's something to the idea though it needs to be filled out somewhat.

It would be nice, i agree the strange one! but the knights and solders could maybe go back to the faction they were originally fighting for, or be availble at the four ways inn.

farmers and refugees roaming around and maybe footmen who don't want the war any more if they are just gong to die as levies should stay to add realism and add the only bit of life you see at the current version in the game.

knights and men-at-arms wouldn't wander around when they gave factions to fight for!

I like the freed prisoners or refugees wandering around, sometimes you can break in on a refugee battle and there are only twenty Dark hunters. Even then they usually kill a couple of my guys but it is fun. Sending them off to some camp seems creepy.

Yes. The Four Ways Inn could be a 'safe spot' or 'haven' in an area torn apart from war. All the peasant refugees gather there in a big shanty town. Maybe they hate both sides (Swadian and Vaegir) just as much and the war and form an alliance whatever they were originally from.

You could have a quest leading on from that. After a certain point in the game dark knights begin to attack the refugee camp. If you are in the area you can come along as a savior and defend them. You get nearly unlimited numbers of recruitable peasants. In the long run your camp of refugees could grow into a power of its own and you become their leader.
