Odd Moments

What are your oddest moments in M&B, when just wierd things happen...

for me...

my horse 'fell' off a 'cliff', suffered 139 damage, and got crippled...

then i shot Marnid, in the head (opps), with a WarBow for 92 damage, he immediatly fell off his horse (opps!!), which i hijacked (might as well)

in that battle i managed to kill 3 of my soldiers.... (crapola!)

that was an odd one

and second oddest is thinking that that Vaegir war party was 27 members strong.....

77 is a LOT different than 27......

mine had to be when i just mounted the horse, it got shot, and died. so i was sitting on air
edit: welcome to the forums!

Starting a battle at the edge of a cliff, and yelling in horror as my whole mounted army proceeded to immediately charge over the edge and plunge to their doom. That was pretty weird.

Being charged by a dark knight after I'd ran through my arrows and stood weilding a crappy little knife. I stood in the middle of the river, running backwards through a ravine, alone, no way out and here comes this knight... needless to say I thought my time was up. Then, out of the blue, two of my knights fall from the sky, one on either side of the Dark Knight, and start hacking away... saved my butt that day they did.

Thanks... made me wish for a "scream for help" button, that's for sure... but my knights heard the call anyways.

I literally cheered out loud afterwards, and then spent the next five minutes laughing.

How about when you jump across a river and land on a slightly slanted polygon and "slide" for a few seconds you take enormous amounts of fall damage and lose your horse, despite only actually being in the air for half a second and falling all of 2 feet.

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Sea raider ships on fire off the coast of Wercheg. I've watched golden denars glitter in the dark near the Forbidden Mountains. I've witnessed the fall of the Seven Against Zendar. All those moments will be lost in time like tears in rain. Time to die.

My weirdest moment was when I rode full speed off a cliff not even realizing it. My horse died but I lived. Then a axe flew past my head. I aimed my bow to the guy who threw it, then it right over him a killed my troop.

Um, I have jumped off a small hill and I got like 10 feet in the air and hover then crash down and die, also works with cliff faces and enemy units. Rare.
I shoot a guy from 2 inches away and miss... I miss with a lance when it was already through him. I shot an arrow between a horses legs and kiloled a steppe bandit. I've gotten/seen a number of arrows/axes/jarids through interesting parts of the body. Nothing particuaraly unusual except the hover of death. Oh, and the fact that enemy archers can hit you from half way acrossthe map with ROCKS  .

I have this tactic against dark knights, where I just clump up all my knights (and riderless horses -- if I feel particularly cheeky, I'll dismount my horse, run to inventory, get another one, dismount it, etc and make a wall of horses. . . okay, I'm lying. I haven't done that. But I'm about to go try it. . . wahahaha wall of sumpter horses!!)

I have a few weird ones, though. . . So anyway, I jumped on top of this pile of dark knights and swadian knights and blah blah blah, and got stuck and slid back and forth, etc, (on my horse) until they cleared out sufficiently for me to fall, at which point my horse took nearly 600 points of damage!!! . . . and I took none.

By the way, I didn't know crippled horses healed. Do they still do that? How long does it take with a healing skill of 7? Anyone know?

I really like this other one, though:
When a horse's rider gets killed in the middle of the river, and then the horse "fades away" (hah). . . and then there's a horse shaped patch of grass (?!?) in the middle of the river. . .

Aaand finally, charging a group of swadian defectors (or whatever they're called. . deserters), and having a *PILE* of crossbow bolts whiz past my head. . . and they're normally pretty acurate, but none of them hit me (but most seemed to be aimed at me), and *7* of my men (all vaegir knights and horsemen) died instantly.

Sad.

Ahaha. . . oh, yes. And playing a character named "robin goodfellow" (robin hood), and playing a mission where I got *11* head shots on my own men. . . at which point I deleted him and made a character named, "robin badfellow." : (

not so odd as it was frustrating!
most of my watchmen never make it to hired blade status... usually dark hunters finish them off but one did... I was so happy just watching him hack the bits out of river and sea pirates... even mountain and forest bandits fell before him.

until one day I decided to pitch in and hurled my javelin... Bloody fantastic... 100 point head shot instant kill on the hired blade...

sigh...

I was charging enemies along a cliff (going parallel to cliffside) then i realized i was about to fall so i pressed ctrl+r... actually i meant to do so but i pressed space.
So it was a loooong loong fall ending with about 160-170 damage to my horse.

You know your men keeps attacking to air after you win a fight..
I was on tournament. Xerina is a mounted archer and im a twohander. I kill the lanced enemy (unfortunately i killed his mount as well) and the other enemy is too a mounted archer. He and Xerina ran on each other on a corner, trying to get away, turning their horses. I was close, i went there, made two swings and the guy fell down. Xerina gave up on getting away and started firing arrows. Anyway the enemy got knocked pretty quick. So i turn up to Xerina, i see her pulling the trigger, next thing i see is 80 damage and Zendar Center.

Not very weird but Swadian Sharpshooters laying waste to Dark Knights before they even get close is a good sight as well.
*arrow shower*
darky: OMG MY THICK REINFORCED UBERSTRONG SHIELD IS DOWN!!
*arrow shower*
darky: why'dyouhaftogoanddothat.... uhhnnn..

I was over level 30 and got whipped by a river pirate, i killed about 20 of them but the last one was blessed or something, no matter what i did i didnt manage to hit him with my sword of war from horseback, then i run into a tree and he starts to stunlock me, i try to back pedal do anything but he got my horse and started hitting me when i was on the ground and knocked me out, although my health was low when this hapeened i couldnt do anything but laugh.

i just enjoy when my sword goes through 2 or 3 allies to kill someone i can't even see, on foot amongmy allied horsemen... i mean, normally, such hit would kill all your allies and touch no opponent, but sometimes you have to ignore realism and strike for the goal...
