I am sorry to say so far that KoS/AoS only has 8 confirmed players for the match on Sunday, 3 in reserve (possibly able to play). Things aren't looking good for a 15v15. If you still want the battle, let us know, but I for one am willing to delay it to another day so that we can have a bigger match.
Yeah, I am happy to delay, we just need to set concrete times to tell people. We could try a 14v14 for during the week or something.
Okay, how about we delay for Friday next week then? Until we arrive at a day, the battle is postponed.

Ok, battle is postponed until Friday the 25th of June.

We'll try stick to this and it will be two matches.

Factions need to be selected by Sunday. No khergs or nords for both.

No mercenaries - i.e. Pure Dojo vs KoS/AoS battle.

You are attacking our Ruins first at J9.
Then we attack either I8 if we lose or J5 if we win the first match, both Random Plains.

Just confirming our defensive faction with some people tonight, so should have it to you shortly.
Then you can reply with your attacking and defensive team soon hopefully. Then it will all be set.

Agreed on no Khergs/Nords

Mercenaries: While it would be preferable, and most likely to happen, I can't completely rule it out at this point, but we will stive for it.

Agreed on the attack and counter attack.

We should have our attacking choice chosen soon, will get back to you on defense.

Hail Oceanic clan leaders and members!

I am writing to you in regard to your position on Nords in your campaign. At the moment they seem to be an undesirable faction in the campaign, and this prompted me to ask this question. According to your rules, if a Nord-influenced clan (an example is Einhärjar/Shieldings) entered your campaign with a barbarian invasion, would Nords still be undesired? I am aware of the reasons why Nords are an undesirable faction, but what I am asking is, is it possible for a Nord-only clan to enter your campaign and become a kingdom? I would also like to know from the clan leaders and members, what do you think about a Nord-only clan entering your campaign?

Thank you for reading!

I wouldn't be opposed to it.

The only map where they've proved truly overpowered is defending on port assault, but that's largely due to the map advantage.

The only problem I see with a nord-only clan is that if you attack, you get second choice of faction. So if your enemy goes Nord, you can't.
At least the rules at the moment are that you can't go the same faction.

It is a clan by clan decision to keep nords out of matches, though personally I think that there were just a few unlucky battles that has lead to the current position to keep nords out of matches, not that I won't abide by them.

Personally and speaking for my clan I would say that we are open to keeping nords in the campaign, and as to letting the Einhärjar/Shieldlings enter the campaign, the more the merrier! We would definitely be open to fighting in glorious battle with you fellas, no matter how many times you choose nords.

As I said, it isn't a rule per say, each battle has pre-agreed to conditions that keep certain faction choices unavailable. But according to the barbarian invasion rules, you guys are allowed one undeniable attack, so as to allow you to choose to fight as whoever you wish when you do invade.

I apologize, I only used Einhärjar/Shieldings clan as an example, I do not speak for them in any way. I was just intrigued by your position on Nords in your campaign, but it is good to know that Nords might be allowed if the clan is a Nord-only clan and not an undesirable faction as I stated earlier.

Thank you for your time and I hope to enter the campaign soon with my men.

I think that they aren't unbalanced (yes, that was a double negative), just very one-dimensionable
On plains maps they fail against organised cavalry. Whilst on enclosed maps, eg: port assault, nord town, their inf. vs all other inf. cannot be matched (easily)

I really do  LOVE playing as nords, on battle servers I have gotten 30+ kills/4-5 deaths as a nord inf.
BUT they are simply overpowered and unsuitable in clan matches where we feel that they are either advantages/disadvantaged to other factions

An all Nord clan would be fantastically awesome. But they just have ridiculously good infantry(take too many hits, RUN WAY TOO FAST, have the best shields and shield destroying weapons not to mention throwing weapons.), and even pretty good cav (if you just go all throwing javs on a courser, you can bring down any enemy cav). So really they are kind of silly.

This is why they are excluded from the campaign in matches. However i personally dont mind the idea fully just yea not sure how it would work.

The infantry don't have a significant advantage in Ironflesh (2hp doesn't matter all that much), but they do have a 1 point advantage in Power Strike when compared to Swadians and Rhodoks and a 2 point advantage over Vaegirs and Sarranids. The damage boost from PS is exponential, so it's pretty significant.

Plus, they get awesome shields, so they have ridiculous battlefield endurance.

Yeah, that does confuse me a little. It's not like they needed the extra power strike, they already have the highest damage dealing weapons in the game.

And the shields are a little over the top too, they don't exactly need to be as large or durable as they are.

Just swinging in here to comment on the Nords:

As it stands now in matches, we find that Nords are always out-performed by Rhodoks, especially if they roll with a dominant crossbow and cav set-up. Rhodoks have the highest shield-skill in game, which compensates for the Nords having the highest Powerstrike. They also own the largest shields, making them pretty much indestructible. We, as a full-Nord clan, have often had trouble against teams who roll with Rhodoks. It is the standard match faction choice for anyone, primarily because of the point& click simplicity in the crossbow. It is entirely possible for Nords to be beaten in melee, providing that the Rhodok faction knows how to exploit angles and shield openings. There is nothing more terrifying as a Nord player than 4 Rhodok crossbowmen, one infantry with a lolhammer and two cav skirting around the flanks. It makes for a nasty brawl...

However, we are well on our way to disassembling the Rhodok scourge in matches.

Again, I wished not to barge in here with my own opinion. It was interesting to read since things in Europe seem to be far different compared to England's Penal Colony Australasia.  ()

In reference to the nord thing, I would be open to using them in the campaign, but how about limiting their use on say.. certain undesirable maps as Port Assault. Likewise with khergits on open plains etc.
Most factions have strengths and weaknessess and its up to tactics and strategy to best them. Ofcourse its a bit hard on the 2 maps i mentioned above.

That's pretty much exactly what we have done with the other team's ability to request no nords/khergits.
The problem is, who would want to use those factions in any other situations, where they have shown to be ineffective compared to other factions

We know that.

We're talking about Nords on Port Assault and Nord Town, where it's almost impossible to effectively use ranged skirmishing or cavalry to break up an infantry core.

I personally don't mind versing Nords at all. They have an advantage on maps such as port assault without a doubt, and although you are limited on maps such as that in regards to countering them, you have options. My only problem is battles of around 15< with Khergits on a flat map where you have no options.

I am glad to see such positive responses to having Nords in the campaign. This will make entering a Nord-only clan into the campaign much easier.
