Be sure to get Meow into the campaign as a vassal state (just like how I created AoS) so you can use them in battle!
 
There won't be any opportunity for Meow to be a vassal state because Rawr won't have any territory to give....

DOJO OFFENSIVE
The Dojo army marches onto hex B3 and prepares to siege the temporary Rawr stronghold.  By 8pm Sunday 12 June their siege engine will be fully assembled and ready to roll.

Soldier numbers can be determined by the defenders.

Attackers request no Nords.
 
Haha, dont think we will be giving our lands easily. I will assemble the horde and let you know when we are ready.
 
So anyway,since our village is a "stronghold" does that mean we get a slight advantage in anyway, e.g is it a castle?
And if we lose it, do we lose all our land?
 
It is a stronghold, but it's still the Village map, i.e. not a castle map.

So battles on the map can't be siege, they're simply battles.

If you lose it you lose your kingdom.

 
Nevertheless, village would be easier, is there anyway to make it... more fortified for them?

Should be interesting, all on the line for RAWR!

As I didn't anticipate it being Village (stupid I know) Dojo also request no Khergits :smile: in addition to the already stated no Nords.

 
Maybe the temporary castles could be castle 4? Seeing as it's fairly temporary-ish (although I haven't played it since they modified it a few patches ago so I don't know how good a map it is).

I can't remember Castle 4, but  it might be a good alternative, depending on what the defender wants. It would make sense that a fortified village hex becomes something LIKE a castle, but not quite the main castle maps.
 
Yea, as said, they built up a castle, i think they should get a castle map for sure. But if we take it, then it can return to the village map, and not a castle.

Just seems unfair that they have no castle. (plus dojo wants to play a siege.)

I agree. Castle 4 has a wooden palisade so can play the part of a 'temporary' stronghold.

But on the other hand, the village map already is a fortified village, it has a wall and towers! If it were open plains or something I'd say definitely go Castle 4, but village.....

Uhh... I'm sorry but that last part won't weigh very heavily on the decision making process Gaiseec :smile:
 
Well I honestly don't mind fighting in either theatres. However I think this could be implemented having temporary fortresses on the map in the future. However I believe Rawr should decide which ever map to fight in.

Yeah, definitely.

As you said Las, village is probably the best standard map to defend.

If Castle 4 is reasonable, they should have the option of using that too. I guess we'll see.
 
I'd probably suggest Castle 2, it's a fun one to play on and the architecture matches better than Castle 4.

That being said, it wouldn't take me long to convert small village to a siege map, so that's also an option. Just close the doors, move the ladders around a little, throw up some temporary barricades and move the spawn positions.

Problem would be GoN getting the map file, but I'd be happy to throw up a temporary dedicated server for the match. They've added automatic map downloading in the .120 patch, so if that's officially released before the match it'll make things a lot simpler too.

lol Dojo you dastardly bastards!!!!

I for one would prefer a siege map, for a couple of reasons

1. Villiage even though it has a wall and towers is a nightmare to defend seeing as there are two doors wide open.
2. As defenders we would want to camp, MOTF would kick in and that defeats the purpose of defending right?
3. Im sure RDP will want to go pew pew pew
4. I wanna pretend im Aragorn at Helms deep
5. Id like to play a siege game where some dill doesnt end up opening the gate and letting the enemy stream in
6. If we get to use a castle i get to have fun writing some RP fiction for it
7. I want to stand in front of the seige tower as it reaches the wall and be all "you!shall! not! pass!... *****ES!!!" and get all gandalf on thier asses (and he was gay so you know ill get in there deep)

need i say more?
 
You might want to test out some siege battles first, to make sure the round-timer and respawn settings are balanced for both sides. It's been a while, but I remember some siege battles being way too easy to defend (or attack) with default settings (depending on the map, number of players, etc).
