All but two or three of us were on Rawrs teamspeak server.
Brief recap of the matches:
-First Match-
Map: Random Plains
SPLH: Rhodoks
Dojo: Swadia
Dojo team-worked the ever loving crap out of us. They played an all crossbow team, with one or two horseman each round. They kept themselves spread out and as soon as you hit melee you'd get shot in the back by three other guys. Around a solid half of their kills were by crossbow firing into the backs and flanks of melees. Incredibly well organised and played, they took advantage of the open map and used it flawlessly.
-Second Match-
Map: Ruins
SPLH: Rhodoks
Dojo: Sarranids
Again the kicker was team work. We did better on a less open map, so weren't quite so humiliatingly schooled, but we still got split up, shot up and hacked up. The exception was a single round where we played defensively, stuck together, refused to get drawn into the open, then hit them with a mass infantry charge, winning without a single casualty. There's probably an important lesson to be learnt there for us.
In short, in my opinion where we fell down was in playing the game like it was a pub match, SPLH has never fought as a team before and it showed. We held our own in melee and ranged as individual players, but we didn't take advantage of the greater communication to stay coordinated. In short it was a learning experience. Which is why I guess they call it being "Schooled".
