wouldnt it be more realistic if the attacker named a date and hex they are attacking (at least 48 hours before). Then the defenders can either accept or decline date. If they accept each team brings as many men as they can on that date and they fight. But if the defenders decline a new date is picked by the attackers (at least 72 hours from first date). If the defenders decline this date the hex would be lost. This way one team could outnumber the others. realistically the attackers could attack when ever with however many people they wanted and the defenders would only have who was avalible. This way teams would be able to hire mercanaries more often to increase their man power for fights.
This is just an idea, and u probably have a reason ur not using it. I was just wondering.
Realistic, yes.
Fair, no.
For a starter, some clans have many more members than others. Being constantly beaten just because you don't like to recruit every person who asks is not enjoyable, and will turn the campaign into a 'who can recruit the most people in the least amount of time' contest.
Secondly, there are practical limits in that we usually play on a 32 player server (sometimes 64), so if both teams brought too many players there'd be a problem.
Thirdly, people do have real life concerns. If the attacker scheduled the battle for 4am, chances are most people wouldn't be able to play and they could get an easy win just by virtue of not being employed or going to school.
The objective of this campaign is not to create a 'realistic' experience, it is to facilitate fair and enjoyable battles between the clans - the map itself is simply a context-providing backdrop.
On your question of what server to play the campaign on - you can't just join at any time.
Battles happen every week or so, and the server we play on is passworded so only people who are invited can join.
As I said to you earlier, if you want to get involved in the campaign you are best off joining a clan.
