OK guys, lets all address the pink elephant in the room....

Rawr did a massive rage quit, we know it, you know it, we all know it.

This is how it happend

> Dojo proposed a time extension
> Rawr agreed that the time should be extended for the next round (what we meant was the next battle i.e the counter attk)
> Dojo change the timers
> This caused much frustration from the rawr players who took this as a under-handed act
> Certain rawr members decided to rage quit, which instigated a mass jump ship
> Things got fk'd up

Correcting this;

Rawr agreed that the timer should be changed, but not at that very moment. Rawr_Matt even said multiple times ; "Change the timer, in the counter attack."

Given that, the text box in-game, is 90% mutter and 10% you need to read is missed because it just fades away.

Well, mordaunt did ask matt and gerhart what they thought about changing it to 10 mins.
Matt said "yeah probably"
gerhart said something like "go for it"
Mord went to change it, not realising it would change instantly which ****ed the war up a fair bit, but it was an accident.
Then the ****storm happened.

Calis has a right to say what he thinks btw. Freedom of speech, cheers.

I'm making no further comments about this won't get anywhere.

Suggesting that we make a rule, that ONLY leaders can give the final say, otherwise there is a mis-communication, like tonight.

We probably wont be agreeing to 10 minutes because it seems to be a bit high. We also learned today that you do not listen to what anyone but what doomicus and I say.
it avoids confusion like what just happened.

There must be a extra time added, to large matches like tonight. e.g if there is over 30 people (15 each team) then the round timer MUST be bumped up to 7 or more minutes.

7 Minutes tops, in my opinion, close matches like the Rawr vs Kos Not to long ago, took a full hour, and it wasn't even over.

It generally comes down to what map it is, There is always going to be a person that runs away to make the round draw, and there are going to be HUGE Maps.

I thought we were all happy with 10 minutes? hmm have to have a discussion in mumble then to decide a proper time if there is conjecture.

Technically, this is a global matter which will affect alot more matches.

Should make a poll on forums. in a SEPERATE thread.

e.g.

What should the timer be for large matches?

> 10 minutes
> 7 minutes
> Allow the time to be set by an agreement between leaders.
> Leave it at the normal time, the time used for all matches in the past, because it works.

At the end of the day there were errors on both sides, Dojo changed the timers mid game, Rawr over-racted like *****es.

Idealy we should have paused the battle, the leaders should have talked it out and we could have gone on with the match.

I think what we've learned from this is village is a very defender friendly map with alot of people, xbow on rooftop spam is very hard to beat. Even i was getting frustrated because i hate having to wait for a fight leading me to rush at you guys, which did not go down well with the rest of rawr. But at the end of the day Dojo u guys knew what you were getting into, xbow spam is to be expected on that map. Attacking village should be seen as attacking a castle, its fkn hard.

Disagreed calis, i told none of you to post one sided comments.

Its not one sided, i stated that Dojo should not have changed the timers but we shouldnt have rage quited. Simple as that.

I beleive i can bag out rawr if i want to, im a part of it and i would think everyone (including ppl in rawr) would be frustrated at how that match ended. Things were going well for us, we were winning, TBH Dojo had no chance of beating us(not a statement of players skill, id say we're pretty darn even ,its just the map its a killer to attk). BTW Extended round timers does nothing, ranged will always camp, thats just how it goes. If the timers are extended it'll boil down to which team gets bored first and charges. How does master of the field work exactly, is there a way to make it just kick in at a certain time?

For those who don't know, MOTF works like this:
When there is not enough killing for any period of about 1:00 or 1:30, the flags pop up.
If there is enough killing to satiate the appetite of the Master, the flags don't appear.

Fact is, with an extra 2 minutes the last 4 rounds would have been ours, so it definitely makes a big difference. Looking forward to the rematch.

Dojo and KoS have played two games around 15 v 15 with an 8 minute timer and a 7 minute timer, and both worked really well I thought.
Don't think we had a single draw in either of them, but at the same time there was no point where we were all just sitting around waiting.

MOTF changed in the 1.125 patch BTW - it used to only come up after a kill, but now even if there are no kills it can appear (but takes longer it seems).

i think we can all agree that master of the field is truly a loathesome mechanic

what a lackluster idea to give a round some sort of "objective"

the fact that the spawn point of it is randomised (village has 3 motf points, from my understanding), and can basically be captured within 20 seconds, it's really quite questionable, considering the fact that fighting each other then becomes redundant, as you can camp in a house and hope for a motf spawn closer to you than the enemy

mount and blade: never played an fps, version 1.126

I dislike MOTF also, but I prefer it to forced draws.

From a suspension-of-disbelief standpoint I find it easier to imagine that capturing a specific part of the battlefield would win the day than that the battle has to end after five minutes, and if there's a single enemy left alive it's a draw.
