This is going to be an interesting combination, but my bet's on it being as buggy as the usual Obsidian release.

This makes me happy. The last WoT game I played was an online hosted text-based adventure game.

Hmh. Considering how the books are, it'll either be a horrible fail if the game tries to keep the style too hard, or alternatively a very awesome creation if they make better use of the ideas.

I'll take the bugs as long as I get a good game out of it though. I'd rather have to start the game up again every half hour than have no reason to start it up at all.

Not too confident about the movies though, it'd take more than a trilogy to cram half of the plot of WoT into.

True. But it would be much more interesting if half of the plot was left out that I'd say it a fair exchange.

Check the date, that article is from February 2010, not 2011. Over a year ago. I was curious and checked the Red Eagle Games website, and the latest news there is from 2009.
Not very reassuring.

I hope it's better than the last WoT game, where you played the part of an Aes Sedai so weak in Saidar that she could only use Ter'Angreal for powers. I was expecting more from the game, something like a cross between Jedi force-powers and Black & White's 'making symbols to create an effect' method of play.

Suffice it to say, I didn't play the game for very long (and now I can't play it because of my graphics card).

Eh. I haven't been terribly fond of Obsidian's track record when it comes to releasing videogames. Back in the good old days of Black Isle (both the Interplay division and BI Studios), I loved em. Loved em to death. But KotOR II and NWN II were just rather lackluster in my eyes.

Their latest game, Fallout: New Vegas, was fairly entertaining though! So, who knows? Maybe some of that old Fallout-Baldur's Gate era magic has come back to them, eh?

KotOR II was rushed by Lucasarts; NWN2 was like the first book in Discworld, a parody of standard fantasy settings, but MotB was much better, went back to parody in SoZ though.

BG was Bioware's production.

I remember reading this a while back while browsing a WoT forum. If I remember correctly an MMO and a movie were also planned, but I'm skeptical considering the lack of progress these projects seem to have made. Still, it doesn't hurt to cross your fingers and hope for the best.

This project was, however, announced somewhere close to three years after his death, so I doubt that was the cause. I'd blame some of Obsidian's other projects if anything.

They couldn't make a movie, they couldn't make a TV series, so they're making a game. I hope they will becuse the only other option left is an anime and I REALLY wouldn't want to see that, ever. Please make the game a good one!

Why must you crush my fondest childhood rememberances?
