fun fact of the day-
American soldiers who were good at shooting clay pigeons were given M1897 shotguns and stationed in trenches. If a granade was thrown in there areia, they would deflect it with a round of shot, just thought some would find this intresting.

That truly epic. =D

Ah Rigadoon, you made a mistake. The most important pistol of them all is not the Luger.... its the obrez.

truly the pinnacle of russian engineering

Update #19 Pistols, Sentinels and Stormtroopers
Here again with another update. This is a typical render update but one of the larger ones. Next update, I'll start giving more information on how we're doing in other departments such as coding, sounds, and animation. Also, we'll be showing a bunch of in-game screenshots and possibly videos, since, thanks to DanyEle, both factions are now "playable," but far from finished. For now, enjoy some new models.

In earlier previews and updates, we showed two revolvers, one French and one German. For those who missed them;

These revolvers might be outdated by WWI, but they're far from useless and will be an option for those who value power and/or prefer old fashioned firearms. For those who want to be armed with the latest, we have semi-autos! Here's a Ruby pistol, which were very widely used by French officers.

Oh no, why isn't there another image in this block. Something's not right. Yup, the most important pistol of them all isn't here. Sorry but the Luger is a lot more complex than all of these and it'll be a little longer before we can show it. I didn't want to delay an entire update for one model so you'll have to wait till a bit longer to enjoy the glory of the Luger. Perhaps next update if things go well.

Now onto some more German uniforms. It's probably getting a bit tiresome to see German uniforms over and over again, but I think you guys will enjoy these.
Here is the uniform of Sentry wearing a Grabenpanzer. Unlike most body armor experiments by other countries, this one was quite successful and used in large numbers. It may give you descent protection from rifles at a distance and pistols but rifle bullets at close range will punch straight through it. Obviously, the disadvantage of wearing one of these is that it severely restricted your speed and movement so it was only worn by sentries, machine gunners and other soldiers in exposed positions.

To top it off, some uniforms of the elite Stormtroopers. They have grenade sacks, cloth bandoliers, and to top it off, leather reinforced trousers.

As I said earlier, next update is when we're going to start showing more in-game stuff. DanyEle joining the team as a coder has really sped up the process. At this point, most of our items are in-game but there are still minor tweaks to be made. Of course, we'd also like to show off the new scripts that have been added to bring the WWI experience to life. See you guys soon!
I love that first revolver

I have a eye for that German hand cannon, but a small part of me wants the semi-auto pistol. I also like the grabenpanzer. Hey Rigadoon, will each regiment have its own MG and things like that, or will they be put under the specialist category?

Oh My God! Just logged in for congratulate this excellent job! Please, do not let this MOD dies like every great one does.

Anxious!

Not the greatest pick maybe... The reichsrevolver, while acceptable for its time (it didnt get much better than .44 russian in black powder days.. yeah we're talking 1870s here) is bested by the 9mm para by a good hundred foot-pounds or more. There's a reason 9mm is still used today, and the luger was in use since 1908. You would have to be utterly mental, or a rear line troop to be carrying a reichsrevolver. they were quite phased out. Even the c96 bested it in stopping power, and it threw a much lighter projectile with a somewhat lighter charge than the luger.

As for the 1892... It's more common, but really was about the same as the ruby's cartridge (32ACP) in terms of its stopping power. I would sooner have suggested having the chamelot-delvigne as some of these were in service and they had notably more grunt than the modele 1892.

also the bore on the lebel can't be unseen... it's an 8mm, not a .50

on another note, the german bandolier looks pretty undersized. consider that a couple of rifle clips needed to fit in each partition

I'm currently working in a WW1 themed shop. They sell WW1-WW2 and other historic gear, I'm going to be making diorama miniature boards for them.

Anyway I was playing with the bolt action rifles they had yesterday, the French Lebel Model 1886 rifle and British Lee Enfield, I noticed the Lebel was very heavy and longer than the Enfield, it also had a strange way of loading. Was the Lebel a common rifle the French used? If so will it have a longer loading time compared to clip loading?

It was a favourite among the troops because of its high magazine capacity. There was a shortage of them around 1916-1917 which hastened a bunch of the berthiers into service (which had their own set of problems - low magazine capacity being one of them - it was a rifle developed "up" from a musketoon made for artillery and cav) and this lead to the berthier magazine being  expanded. The lebel would probably have been the rifle most likely encountered for a frenchman in ww1... at least in europe.
