B Musket Era [NW] Crimean War mod. (Need help with scripts)

Good looking stuff, it's nice to see that this mod is still being chipped away at!

This P.Alabin just didn't get it! I'm not going to mess with a man who goes into battle with a skirt!

Going further off the almost irregular, undisciplined nature of the Greek volunteers, I notice in a lot of depictions the Legionaries have their sashes absolutely packed with anywhere from one to three pistols, and often even a dagger! Is there any chance we could see an "assault" type class for the unit? Being able to run up to a formation and unleashing shot after shot before having to reload could make for a unique mechanic. People in NW mods have an understandable habit of surviving pistol rounds, so maybe this could make them particularly useful for once.  Or, of course any regular old soldier could have a pistol and dagger tucked into their belt as a backup for their muskets and rifles.

Greeks were good one-to-one fighters, but they were very bad as unit, and because of lack of discipline they even left their positions in front lines, just because they were shot at, not mentioning countless mutinies if they were not satisfied. In open fight they were good though, they were good scirmishers scirmishers.

As for weapons - yes, they had an entire arsenal with them, they had a musket (mostly they had old smoothbore flintlock muskets, but in the Crimea they received bad quality percussion muskets with bayonets) and dagger or scimitar and 1-3 pistols.
By the way, I didn't figure out, is it possible to give to unit musket and pistol, if I assign to pistols flag "itp_secondary" - I can't take pistol  to my hands in game, and if I assign to the unit both pistol and musket, I can only choose one of these weapons.
And yes, it would be nice to give to Greek Volunteers both musket and one pistol (which maybe will share ammunition with musket) and scimitar, since in M&B units have only 4 item slots

I took a break from scenemaking and made a couple of uniforms

Russian 1st category arrestant (summer and winter uniform). Arrestants volunteered for building of fortifications and fighting. (In my mod it will be one of skins for sapper)

I have that issue sometimes - after recomputing normals in the OpenBRF pants receive hard edges on the inner part of them, I don't know why. And if I don't recompute normals, specular map is mostly not working correctly.

Thank you, I know it and often use it, but it also messes up specular. And I just checked - on those pants already was unchecked "keep texture seams hard" box but some edges still are very hard. And also it is so on most pants somehow

To me it looks like its a LOD instead of the normal model. I also had a similar issue. I was advised to recompute normals aswell but it was actually caused by a Vertex colour

For a long time I work on surroundings of the scene, and finally it looks like something to show

Of course, it requires a lot more work and time, shaping and making UVW's, so work cotinues

At the same time with making mod for Napoleonic Wars DLC I want also make singleplayer mod for Warband, so I've made quite accurate mesh of map of Sevastopol and today I finally added it to Warband, so here is the look of my first attempt of making global map. I figured out that making singleplayer mod isn't that hard as I thought (I'll just add uniforms and weapons I've already made, so only scenes and global map will take extra time), so I think there will be singleplayer version of Crimean War mod!

I want to finish and release at least some version of multiplayer mod, and after that focus on singleplayer, so for now I paused work on global map.

Couple of days ago I finally managed to disable cavalry on certain infantry maps in team deathmatch mode, fighting with bots is much more interesting now.
And today I've made French infantry officer's sabre M1845.

Here are some screenshots of how French infantry repulses Russian sortie in French trenches in front of Malakoff

The work on British drummers  took far longer time than I hoped - each British regiment had their own lacing pattern and painting on the drums, so research took couple of months and even some money for books about uniform.

In the same time French and Russian drummers took couple of days of research and modelling due to standartized patterns.

There is more information on this drummer's uniform, because a coatee of a drummer and a side drum of RWF of that period survived (I'm adding their photos in case someone is interested, because I've spent good amount of time researching this, it's not easy to find such information, unfortunately)
