NPC contested towns!

Heres an idea, hopefully a unique one

NPC contested towns, Swavians attacking Varghirs towns, these would be a set few border towns, which often are attacked by large NPC armies, but you have the ability to join in the fight and try and swing the battle? Perhaps as part of a quest? a good way of earning a new faction rank, lead your army to battle etc etc Loot rewards would be what you perhaps pillage or find on the enemy troops, perhaps your faction is just harrasing the town or perhaps they are trying to retake it.

Any just a few thoughts :smile:
 
I like that idea.

There should be some border towns, which are weakly defended, and change hands often.

And a few "forts" which have large garrisons, and send out troops.

And the major cities (especially the capitol) would be well defended.

The player could help one side conquer the other. Kinda like in Sid Meyer's Pirates!

i think there could be a border line drawen, in the world map. so you allways know exactly in whos kingdome you are while traveling! and you know wich towns are S and wich V with one look.

We can do without border lines in the game, yes, but having those war parties actually go to war would be nice...
 
i'd advice something more.

when infiltrating enemy territory, it would be more difficult to survive, when more distance is between borderline and current position to survive (border line represented with just an array of n points) Patrolling could give an alarm if they are outnumbered instead of simply fleeing, and larger armies would chase the so-called brave captain!

I was about to put up a topic just like this!

Needless to say, I think besieged towns and quests like "Relieve Halidar!" is a great idea. :grin:
