Novice Clerk Personality

Hi everyone, first of all I wanted to say how overjoyed I was when found this incredibly addictive game. Now for the suggestion:

Out of the four different personalities, the clerk personality has no advantage. Choosing this personality, the player starts off with no commodities (unlike the merchant, and to lesser extent, the hunter), no armor (unlike the squire) and no real weaponry (!). Also I found that his starting skills (or the lack of them) don't compensate for the initial weakness of the character.
While I understand this is a don't-get-your-hands-dirty-keep-out-from-the-fray personality, the lack of funds at the start of the game doesn't allow you to hire more than two townsfolk (it is difficult to earn additional money at the tournaments, since the character starts with little weapon points), which may get killed in the first battle.
Therefore, may suggestion is to start that personality with a handful of followers - a few townsmen/peasants in order to counter the character's initial disadvantage.

clerk? do you mean priest? cleric, maybe? I get your meaning though, but I haven't played as a priest yet, so I can't comment.

They definitely get pathetic starting equipment/money in comparison to the other 3 and they don't get a horse or bow either. I got a staff a bag of grain, a robe and just over 100 gold. That was it!!! The only benefit I saw was the high starting INT. WOW!!!!!
