Summary: Not upgrade to version 1.7
I cannot update my copy of the game to version 1.7 game purchased from the Epic Game Store.
What to do about it?

It is a beta version at that moment and sadly beta versions are currently available only on steam. You will get versoin e1.7.0 when it will get out of the beta state and it will happen when new regular/big update (not a hotfix) will be released.

Unfortunately you can't, but usually patches are released once every 1-2 months, so you can get some idea when it might be released.

You're welcome. On a positive note for you, beta e1.7.0 at that moment brings more bugs than new mechanics and fixes, so you are not really missing that much here.
