Guys, the idea about that club is good. But, as I can see, you are having problems about the team ballance. So, the first thing for the developers to do is a kind of "team ballancer". I mean, there would be some system (no matter, mechanical or player-defined), that will not oversee the ballance and set a specific number limits for player types. For example, every palyer in the realm is aware that there are 2 guardsmen% A and B& If he sees another guardsman, he knows, that he is false.

Only brigands may to move to jail. "Guardian vs Brigands", no trolling.
 
Plazek, the Guardsmen stats are ridiculously bad, unless the knights are terrible at the game they needn't worry about a club very much even if it did affect them. As it is, brigands and such just end up trolling anyway so why would this be any different? You can suicide to get out of it anyway and it will be just as if the guardsman killed you which is how it is now.
 
Maybe we should do another trick:if you were killed by guardian (no matter what weapon he used), your next spawnpoint is Jail. Simple but effective  :wink:

This is admin's work. Club just may to change this work to more simple level.

I do not think admins should have any work on this other than removing people who spam/make racist comments/spawn kill or break regular server rules.
I want in character solutions to these crimes, not admin kicks. eg If someone is murdering randomly I would rather lock them up for 5 minutes than kick them.

You know in the spirit of the mod originally proposed by Lazslow. As opposed to these police state servers with a million rules. Which is no fun for the admins. Compare for example being an admin of Berries server versus being an admin in HL2 RP, or a cop in City Life mod for ARMA/2. Both of which are epic fun, whereas trying to keep tabs on everyone in PW is a never ending job, or at least it is on a busy server.

I always play guardsman on my server and have no problem with the stats. Nor did I have problems as bandit. A modicum of skill goes a long way.
 
plazek if you are having trouble keeping up with the cries for kicks youre doing something wrong. if im busy i just ignore it entirely
myabe your rules arent strict enough so people who have morals dont feel bad for slaughtering people?

You know prison as an idea is not atually that outlandish. It is not necessarily to reform them. I have no problem if people commit crime I just want realistic ways to punish them for it. Criminals IMO enhance the gameworld so long as there is a oproper system to fight against them. I don't want to kick or ban them.
 
i prefer not to kick or ban criminals, i do like kicking ass whipes who ruin the game for others. but, the good kind of criminals, when surrounded and outgunned, drop their weapons and try to surrender, then be escorted into jail.
 
Not necessarily. Some people hate to surrender whether roleplaying or not. Me for instance.
And "ruining the game for others" is a very general idea. It is very likely we have different ideas of where that line lies. Evidenced by looking at 22nd server rules vs RCC.
 
Both of yall have different opinions for how to play/RP, like Plazek said, but if the server admin could just remove the clubs, then Plazek could remove them if he wants. I think on RCC we would like to see that, but you may not over on the 22nd. We both have different rules like Plazek said, and that is why some people like the 22nd more, and others like RCC more, personal opinion really.
 
I think clubs are needed not only admins, there will not be they to pursue every pickpocket. Such crime must be punished even, a guard will engage in this

PS Besides a capture is a yet not end, it is always possible to find an output, either independently or - by friends.
 
Yea with them being able to only imprison bandits it works.
But I was hoping for osmething more functional, able to imprison all criminals.

As this is how I imagined such an item.
Obviously what you actually made is much safer to give to the public. Yet much less useful to admins looking to avoid OOC involvement.
 
alright, lets try it. someone make the script and we'll implement it, and see how it goes. its the only way to see if its a good idea or not. i cant code, though
 
Yes, but then everyone won't go the bandit class because they can be locked up. They'll just go heavy duty knights and go around killing people.



While it not be a problem to the other servers, the 22ndwill have the clus as a useless symbol of authority because you can't do it to a rampaging knight.
 
How about just giving the person a higher powered club with a longer reach? That can hurt anybody and smash through a knights armor?
 
Yes, but then everyone will recruit TW into their army to fight another faction's knights.



And also, you'll have to define knight armor. Whats if it's a Looter going through town smashing everyone with a mace?
