Not a valid Win32 application?

I downloaded the installer from the link supplied in the invitation email I received, but when I try to run it an error pops up reading:
"C:\Users\...mb_warband_beta_setup_0613.exe is not a valid Win32 application."

AVG notified me that the file is a trojan (obviously a false alarm), but even when I disable AVG and my firewall I get that same error. Running it as administrator doesn't help either. I'm using Vista x64. Any ideas would be much appreciated; thanks!

It's possible that your security software has broken it in its attempts to "quarantine" the supposed trojan. Try downloading and installing it again with your security software disabled the whole time.

Alternately, stop using AVG and get Avast!; it has a similar feature set but better detection and a lower false positive rate; it never complains about any version of Mount&Blade or Warband.

Yes, the solution to the problem

You have to kill jacob..

Wait, heres what you do: Uninstall AVG, and ditch that program, it sucks.
