Northern Shadow - M&B meets Skyrim?

Users who are viewing this thread

Just saw the trailer today and thought this looked interesting and ambitious.

2 Guys from Turkey apparently. Difficult to tell these days with so many early access/greenlight games coming out (and many falling short of expectations), but if they can deliver even just most of their promise it could be cool.

Yah, just saw it in RPS, looks mighty promising.

The quality of the world and assets is impressing, even more considering that there are only two guys (?) working on it.

Following this and waiting to see more of the gameplay.

TBH I don't see much of M&B in it, and except for the city building part I'd say the game concept sounds kinda generic

but.
looks like the execution is superbly done so far, so it's got my attention

looking forward to see some gameplay, specially combat

Looks awesome. The fantasy/magic stuff turns me off though.
Kinda this. The graphics look cool as hell and quite Skyrim-esque, but I'd prefer it if you didn't appear to be fighting the stereotypical armies of evil.

Ja. Though I really don't mind fantasy, some bits of the trailer makes me worry about cheap fantasy.

But I say we should wait for more info to see if that's the case, some details on the trailer makes me give them some credit.

The mixture of army building and real-time battles where you can (presumably) give basic commands, whilst being able to take part yourself, was what reminded me. The execution could be very different of course.

I don't really care if they buy assets off of people, since that means they'll be able to devote their time to coding the game and polishing it.

Most of the art is from the Unity Asset Store.

Wasn't aware of that.

Not that's there something inherently wrong with using ready assets, but not having their own art just killed it a bit for me.

But nice to know about the store, may be something interesting to give a shot sometime.

I sell things on the asset store; I obviously don't care, I was just providing an explanation.
I thought you were implying that it was bad. My fault, sorry.

Hmm.

It is all text based (no voice overs), but has an expanding story with many arcs.

~Steam page.

That kind of bums me out. At least get the major characters voiced. Game looks really interesting, but i'm with the others in the sentiment that I'd have preferred a non-fantasy setting.
