The problem is that they are not included in the game but are in the folder. Il release another version soon so it will be fixed.
 
When you release the next version, will our save games from the current version still work or will we have to start over? Thats the one thing that really bugs me about getting new versions of this game and mods for it. Takes so long to level up and then you have to start all over again!

Il ask Janus how it works. The next version is a texture artwork update so I think the old saves will work.
 
Well, it depends on what you change in the update. It should usually (I think) be possible to keep each version compatible with the last, but it would need meticulous work. The most problems arise when certain things (mainly variables, but also troops, items, etc.) are renumbered due to adding in new entries in the middle of the file. This should mostly be taken care of by adding further such entries to the end of the list if possible.
I think you should check variables.txt to make sure the order hasn't changed there as well, with new variables being added to the bottom of the list.

This is just from my observations, some of it may not be quite right. I think Effidian would know better than anyone though (other than Armagan of course).

EDIT: graphical changes, scene (SCO) edits, map updates (to an extent; mountain tiles added where a party is in the savegame would be bad for instance), and dialog updates should be safe without affecting compatibility with old version savegames.
 
Okay, thanks for the anwser about the save game question.

Just played the mod for a few minutes. Looks pretty good for a version 0.2. The map looks cool as hell.

Few things though:

1. I don't know if this is abug or what but in the training fights (the ones you get into by talking to the trainer in the starting town) when you get a one handed sword and a shield, your character seems to raise his shield verrrrrryyyyyy sssslllloooowwwwlllyyy (very slow) when you try to block. It looks kind of cool as if hes about to raise his shield just before a very dramatic fight but its actually a bit of a problem once a fight is actually in progress and you are getting whomped on. You might want to look at this yourself because maybe you didn't know it was even there. (I'm probably the only person to even bother with those training fights, I just enjoy the one on one.)

2. The font is... bad. Its just bad. It would be one thing if it was only used in the dialog on in specific parts of the mod but when even the interface uses it and you have to squint to read the name of a weapon... Maybe you could make it optional?

3. In playing the tournament matches, I noticed that every time you appear in town you appear about a 30 second run away from where the town actually is located. Its not a big deal... but it does get a bit tiresome to run back into town after every tournament match. (Although I did notice how you added in a 50 denar betting option to the tournament, nice.)

Okay, sounds like you pretty much knew about that stuff.

Heres something else bizzare. The trade system doesn't seem to be working. For example in the first town I asked what the item the caravans buy there was and I was told it was Tools and they could be sold in Tulga. There is no Tulga anymore of course, so I guessed it was changed to "Tulgrgah" (or however you spell it...). But when I got to that town, the merchant there seemed to think he was in Tulga but he still asked for something other than tools and said he was selling spice.

In other words, I think you should take a look at the dialog for the merchants because they don't seem to know what towns are in the game or in some cases even what town they are in.
 
Actually, I like the font, it just needs to be refined and some letters changed IMO. My main problem is with "n" and "h" looking almost identical.
Another request for the first town: could you move Constable Hareck to a more accessible spot, if he's meant to still be in the scene? I ended up going into edit mode to find his perch. :razz:
The Salt Mine took a bit of a hunt to find the guys as well, but I'm sure scene refinement is on the list, and I realize it's still a very early release at v0.1.
Looking promising so far. :smile:

Il fix em and problem solved. :grin: About hareck I forgot to place him in a not so unaccessible place. :smile: Raltar thank you for informing about that. Il see what I can do about it. Oh and Janus its currently v.0.2. :wink:
 
Found a few more bugs.

The "Sturdy Hood" (+7 to head armor) seems bugged. It doesn't have an image in the inventory screen. Or atleast it didn't when I saw an armorer selling one. Don't know if it works when you wear it. I didn't think to buy it an try it out until just now...

I wasn't able to get up the hill to enter the city of Karazmundar. I couldn't even get up there with the Ctrl+click cheat to teleport (I just ended up inside the mountain).

Other than that the mod seems great. I really love throwing daggers. Its funny as hell to toss one at a bandit and kill him instantly with a head shot.
 
I found another one of those hoods. This one wasn't sturdy either so it must be all hoods. I bought one and put it on my head. My character went bald, and he wasn't like that before. So I'm guessing theres something wrong with the hood graphic.

(I doubt anyone ever uses the hoods though so no big deal if you ask me. I'll bet you could rename hoods "Shave your head" and call it a new item.)

Both have been fixed. :grin: Why the hood didnt have a mesh ( texture ) because of the alpha layers that determine what textures are shown and what are just ignored were black. :smile:
 
The adding of triggers is the number one dealbreaker with save-game compatibility. At least that used to be the case with mag-7. I could put out several versions in a row that would still be compatible until I played with triggers.

ETA? If you mean information I added a option to raid/siege a city ( anyone of em but not the neutral citys ) if stonewall lets me to use it in my mod il release it.

I mean when do you think the next version will be ready for release? Sounds like you fixed alot of stuff.

Raids and Sieges? Does that only apply to the two factions (IE Northern tribes raid barbarians and barbarians raid the northern tribes) or can a player attack any city they want? Is there an option to remain neutral in the conflict and still raid whoever you want?

Player can raid any city they want of these factions commoners/northern tribes/barbarians. currently you remain neutral in the conflict and can raid anyone. I also fixed many bugs.

Actually the AI seems to have more luck with it than I did. But yeah, its been reported.

We can raid anyone? Excellent.
