Indeed, the reason of the high ping is the CPU.

Since the server is single threaded it will only use one core of your quadcore, so at 25% CPU usage it is ctually maxed out, also the Q6700 is quite a old processor so it has less power per mhz then newer type CPU's.

For this reason we run the official eu server on a new type processor (I7 2600k) which we also overclocked to 4.4 ghz to make sure each single core has enough power to run 200 active players with only double their ping.

Im already looking into getting a newer processor.
The i7 3770K, it should be here pretty soon, but for now im limiting the number of slots on the server(s).

What if there are possible issues with the server and people need customer support? Do you do that? Is there any type of Admin panel access like bluefang? Do you have a website we can check out? Can I upload custom made maps to the server? Can I reset the server? Will it run better than bluefang's 200 slot servers? I've noticed at the NEC LB's Bluefang's servers do incredibly good.

Of course. I am reachable by email and steam almost 24/7.

Im looking into remote connection to the server via VPN and other ways at the moment.
And I do not have a website, mainly because I see no point in spending the extra money.

Will it run better than bluefang's 200 slot servers?

I don't know, to my knowledge, I have not been on one of their servers.
