It seems this post was misunderstood. Admittedly, I didn't choose the best wording. When I said "I don't think most of NA likes Vendetta and no one has fun while playing on Village," I was intending to represent the objections that were raised about the maps. Not my own opinion, nor do I pretend to know exactly what the community thinks about the maps. I was simply trying to explain to Crazyboy what I thought the objections/concerns were.

1- Any archer that uses the tower always gets headshot easily by a decent archer because you can see them at all times and they take time to walk up the stairs. Therefore.. not a viable strategy.
2- What the hell would anyone actually be able to do from the palisade that has very bad view towards the front where the  opposing archers would be.
3- The spawn that has less cover has a higher wall at the center, so it can be used instead. A fair tradeoff.
4- Not sure what you mean by being able to shoot through the palisade wall, I've never seen that happen, the closest I've seen to that is people not putting their head behind the pike thingy's at the right angle, so they get their ear torn off by an arrow. (Which counts as a headshot)
5- I highly doubt I would be getting the first head shots of the games if I were to camp at the pallisades, there's simply no angles towards the opposing spawn. I spend most my time up at the wall because there is a much greater field of view and a bunch of dum dums who think they won't be unlucky enough to be the first ones targeted, so they don't even put their shield up. A bunch of easy kills, but that's all POM. I've never played on Arena competitively, so I can't REALLY say how that would work out, but I am quite certain that the same POM strats simply won't work.

Yeah, I watched a bit of TMW play against DoF on the maps earlier today. They both seem a bit too big and siege-like. I'd encourage other clans to try them out, as well as look into the maps for upcoming tournaments, but I don't think they'd be any better than Village or Vendetta in this tournament's case.
 
Both were aesthetically pleasing, but both were too big for a 5v5. The Abbey had some potential to be a good competitive map in my opinion, but needs a few changes, and I wouldn't recommend it for a 5v5. The Hanging Gardens was too siege like to be a proper battle map, in my opinion, but again, it looked really nice. The details were well done, although there was one spot where there was an invisible wall (that you could walk around) for seemingly no reason.
 
I guess they are bit big for 5 aside scrims,but again Abbey is not bigger then Vendetta or Village(afaik)
Not sure what i could change on Abbey map other then move spawns closer to each other.Other then that it seems balanced and i don't think it favors one spawn over the other.

One more thing that we learned from today's pickup is that you need to specify class restrictions(i guess that's wip at the moment).
Example:
If you go Cav do you have to buy horse?

Edit:Btw i am for keeping Village map,but Vendetta is rarely played on NA servers so maybe better map can be found/made.
Edit,edit:Ohh and actually i think Abbey is probably Mixed map(since you can play Cavalry easily there) and not Closed,so yeah if you are looking for smaller map maybe that one is not the best option(but again it's not that big at all).
 
If you close off that garden thing with only 1 entrance in Abby I think that would help.

Is it allowed to give horse to the archer/crossbowman?

 
Can you give a cavalry unit a crossbow? What if the cavalry unit picks up a crossbow? What if an infantry unit picks up a crossbow or a bow?

Also if i recall correctly Master of the Field spawned only once in 8 rounds,so it usually was easy for teams to find each other.
So i marked them for you:
One is in front of the Abbey,
Second is in that Garden and third in the Graveyard.

Really? I played in the first 5aside and from what I remember, strategically changing and swapping equipment between classes was half the point. Why would you HAVE to buy a horse? Nord cav wants to just get 10 javs a good shield and a good sword shouldn't have to waste gold on a horse, especially with 1k...
 
Hmm, now that I think of it I guess there's no reason to make the cavalry players spawn with a horse. I personally just think it's silly in most cases. I was also under the impression that the purpose of fixed classes was to see what teams could do with what they're given (including a mounted cav player), not to see what they can do by changing classes around. So I guess I'll re-allow dismounted cav unless someone can give a good reason to forbid it.

I thought this was cool because it was an organized tournament with strict rules as to what can be done and used, but now it's starting to sound like everyday mixed load-outs with 5 players to each side. Doesn't seem as special as I thought it was before.

Creativity under restrictions? Pretty sure that /should/ be the whole point.

Anyway, thats like saying infantry players HAVE to buy a shield, or archers HAVE to buy 2 sets of arrows and are not allowed to pick up a shield.
