If you were to subject the maps to comprehensive testing --and I don't mean eliminating glitches, which goes without saying for any map, but also making sure they are interesting to play competitively-- I would imagine Juve and co. would be open to adopting them in the tournament. Perhaps you could use the testing procedure for PiMP as a starting point.

Abbey shouldn't lag on any computer(there are not that many trees or scene props).
Hanging Gardens could be laggy on some low end PCs so that's why i am trying to remove as much flora as possible(and if it still lags for someone then i could remove almost all trees,flowers&bushes from competitive version of the map) .

Ruined Fort is not in anyway balanced. The spawn at the ruins easily has the upper hand as you can make it to the main ruins a lot quicker and still have a lot of time to set up before the other team gets there, or at least that's how my experiences with it has gone. Whoever gets that spawn gets an easy 4-0, and then at the swap they get 4-0'd. The only time I have ever seen any different is when one team plays significantly better than the other and can pull out some rounds on the village square spawn. If you want balance, play on arena, both sides are practically the same.

So...how many matches have you seen played on Ruined Fort?  Outside of the recent use by wK I think vs Canucks, this deal hasn't been played since way way before there was "swaps".  I think you're just talking to be talking at this point.

Edit: Also one of the towers on Arena has better coverage than the other, not to mention the pallisade walls only on one side.  Also the one arena wall from the pallisade spawn can be shot through. (I know you know exactly what I'm referring as it's where you pitch your tent on Arena)  Ergo, not truly balanced.

Malions and MrNomNom are pretty fond of Ruined Fort. I enjoy Village and Vendetta, even though Juvenile claims nobody does.

I also enjoy both Village and Vendetta, and I actually have nothing against Ruined Fort, the only thing that's kind of odd are the MoTF spawns (unless they changed them in a recent patch), because one spawns on top of the hill, and the other two favor the spawn in the little village (I think its top spawn).

But if you are talking about balanced maps, there isn't really such a thing, unless its a perfectly flat map with each spawn being exactly the same and all terrain/props are mirrored images on either side of the map, because anything short of that will favor one spawn or the other, specifically for some clans/playing styles.

Edit: but that kind of map would be boring and not fun, so the most balanced maps I think, are the ones that have pros and cons to each spawn.

1- Any archer that uses the tower always gets headshot easily by a decent archer because you can see them at all times and they take time to walk up the stairs. Therefore.. not a viable strategy.
2- What the hell would anyone actually be able to do from the palisade that has very bad view towards the front where the  opposing archers would be.
3- The spawn that has less cover has a higher wall at the center, so it can be used instead. A fair tradeoff.
4- Not sure what you mean by being able to shoot through the palisade wall, I've never seen that happen, the closest I've seen to that is people not putting their head behind the pike thingy's at the right angle, so they get their ear torn off by an arrow. (Which counts as a headshot)
5- I highly doubt I would be getting the first head shots of the games if I were to camp at the pallisades, there's simply no angles towards the opposing spawn. I spend most my time up at the wall because there is a much greater field of view and a bunch of dum dums who think they won't be unlucky enough to be the first ones targeted, so they don't even put their shield up. A bunch of easy kills, but that's all POM. I've never played on Arena competitively, so I can't REALLY say how that would work out, but I am quite certain that the same POM strats simply won't work.

Too many debates are going on that are going absolutely nowhere.

But, then again, I'm just spit-ballin'.

I'm alright with debate. People just seem to get too personal about it or something.

Would any clans who end up playing any pickups in the near future please consider trying out the DoF server maps? If you do end up playing them, please let me know how it goes, or even let me know when you'll be playing so I can watch.
