hey, look, I'm okay with a bit of ping, and even with jumping horses. but teleporting horses and a lag that turns the game into a skittering die-a-lot fest is a bit too much

it's 40, which basically means I can barely hit anything. I don't know how people manage with higher ping than mine. It's probably my ****ty laptop.

The problem with horses is that when galloping, they move with a stagger for a few meters, then 'teleport' some 20m forward. Combined with the horse hit detection bug(horse hits target when being visibly some 5m away) this makes for some very unpleasant and embarrassing deaths by lance. I tried riding and the bug is applicable when I'm on horseback myself. The only time when I managed to get a few kills was as a naked Swadian with bastard sword

I often play oon the North American servers and I am from Europe. Wjhen I play there I have ~100 ping. It works just fine.

Pretty sure it's your laptop being ****ty and not the lack of NA server.  If you have a 40 ping, then it's your computer.  I have a 100+ ping every time I play and hardly get any stuttering.

that means I'll never get to play multiplayer. I don' plan on upgrading my computer anytime soon...

Yeah, 40 ping is really quite low. Try turning down the graphics options or switching to DX7

well, my graphics are at the bare minimum, save for corpses and blood. How is switching from DX9 to DX7 going to change things, exactly?

It runs fine enough, but I mean, even a new laptop is not really that good to play games on.

And ... Do you live in Canada Ludial..? I was sure you lived in Europe somewhere.. You're from Europe, right..?
