Any reason the attackers arent scaling the siege ladder?

The odd tank mesh has no collision, so it's not stopping anyone from going up.

Another issue is the native belfry model is already waiting at the wall, the wheels are the only thing rolling up to the castle walls

By "siege ladder" you mean the ramp to the siege tower? I don't see any ladders.
If you switch to face mode instead of vertex it would be easier for me to see the mesh.
Looks like the mesh is going through the prop. How can the troops even get through there (the skull&bones symbol)?
But obviously, check that the mesh is intact all the way.

The siege tower, incl. wheels, must be placed in their final position by the wall - and the entry points placed correctly in the path.
Why only the wheels move I'm not sure.

I'm looking for people do to siege scenes for me. 1257AD's scenes are really broken. I was considering replacing them with vanilla scenes since those are much better.

One of my scenes is missing general sounds (e.g. horse galloping and sword swing) but the ambient sounds are there. What makes it behave like this?

Looks good already. I suggest you place some trees outside the scene border to make it less noticable. And work on the terrain a bit - different terrain types and shades, make the area in front of the gate less flat and the path less straight. Also maybe make the hill the fort is placed on less conventiently square.
