thanks Death blind Dave, i registered to your forum and am currently looking into it.
and thanks Nordous! your faqs and guides are most helpful!

Good to hear that. :smile: Thanks for the warm feedback!

And I'll be checking that forum soon too...

Btw, has anyone tried to edit a SinglePlayer Caslte_Interior with success not in Native?

I edited one in native (the whole interior, changed it from stone dome to wooden keep) with success, but I've been trying to do the same in a mod without success. I edited the interior, paste the sco file and also edited in scenes.txt the "1 interior_castle_k bo_interior_castle_k" - which worked for Native, but didnot in the mod.
Any suggestions are welcomed, thank you!

Awesome guys hope to see you there!  I am already posting some tips and tutorials for siege maps I have learned over the course of my career as a mapper.

I would love if you posted your FAQ on the CEG forums as well Nordous,  it has a lot of useful information that would be nice to have stickied there. :smile:

By the way,  not sure if you read my other post but you can check out your maps on our TDM server,  US_GK_TDM they run great :smile:

And you are most welcome Pymous if you have any more questions feel free to ask!

I have a question and not really the patience to figure it out myself. Well, I hope I don't have to...

So, I made a scene but noticed that the prison and the interior doesn't fit into the overall setting. I edited module_scenes and replaced the mesh- and bodyname with those from from a scene I think that suits it better. It works but the passage is now screwed up. If I want to leave the castle it seems like there is no passage at all and if I want to enter the castle from outside it doesn't shows the text "enter the castle" or whatever it was but a dot.

I hope for a quick answere.
Look what number does a passage in unaltered scene use. Then put such passage in your scene
I have exaclty the sameproblem as ritter... but havent managed to make it work.
I put Passage 6 for the arena, and it s written "go to the castle", which works (sends me to the caslte, but supposed to be the arena), Passage 2 supposed to lead to the casltle doesnt show anything at all, same for tavern (Passage 4) and Merchant Shop (Passage 5).

In brief, the passages are quite messed up and dont work. Any quick answer for that? :grin:

If all of them do not work in all of your scenes, it means you added items to "town" menu. Passages are hardcoded to be linked to menu entries there, # of passage =  # of menu entry

Thanks.
I played with the passages and noticed that they had to start from 4 (as if menu item 4 = 0; so menu item 6 = castle, menu item 10 =arena.... weird but it works)

From 4?

In native menu item 2 is the castle, and then it goes from 4 to 7.

In town centres:
2 = castle (lord's hall)
4 = tavern
5 = shop
6 = arena
7 = prison

In castle exteriors:
2 = castle (lord's hall)
7 = prison

The target entry point is usually 0.
Although I've noticed in several castle scenes even though the passage entry point says 2,
the player spawns at 0 - for example in town centre, instead of outside the castle/lord's hall.
Haven't figured that out yet...

yeah I know that's weird
Normally its as yuo say... but wby accident i deleted the existing passages (which were as you said).
so i had to add new passages. If i assigned the "correct" numbers as you said, it didnt work. There was a dot "." shown, but it did nt work. When i put menu item 6, it showed "enter the castle", when i put menu item 9, it showed enter the tavern etc..
7 and 8 were "return to the town center" :S

and i have the same little problem with the castle courtyard, though i might try something i have in mind to fix it.

Btw fella, you havent told me your trick to edit a castle interior scene :wink: Or if you have, i did not get it :razz:
I can edit it, but to make it work is another matter

There is no trick  :smile:
I just edit an existing interior using the scene props available. It doesn't look as good, but it works.

This is some great work you are doing here, there are a few scenes here I was wondering if I could take a look at. Particularly "Ring of Stones"?
Also I am not sure if this is in the first post but I think it should be useful as a quick reference to some people who edit their maps in multiplayer:
scn_multi_scene_1 - ruins
scn_multi_scene_2 - village
scn_multi_scene_3 - Hailes Castle (castle 1)
scn_multi_scene_4 - ruined fort
scn_multi_scene_5 - Unreleased warband scene
scn_multi_scene_6 - Unreleased warband scene
scn_multi_scene_7 - Field by the river
scn_multi_scene_8 - Rudkhan Castle (castle 2)
scn_multi_scene_9 - snowy village
scn_multi_scene_10 - Turin Castle (castle 3)
scn_multi_scene_11 - nord town
scn_multi_scene_12 - port assault
scn_multi_scene_13 - Brunwald Castle (castle 4)
scn_multi_scene_14 - battle on ice
scn_multi_scene_15 - Mahdaar Castle (castle 5)
scn_multi_scene_17 - The Arena

Yeah, Joe, thanks. :smile: I'll add it!

And you can have a link for all my maps in this post:

Nordous, I really find this page useful for entry points and others stuff, better than Jubal's IMO.
Feel free to have a look. You have to scroll down a bit to get to the interesting stuff.

But if you put a wooden castle prop in your town center for example, but then you edit the castle interior, and its a stone interior. What can you do about it? I mean not about the tables and all those stuff, just the main castle interior prop, which you cannot delete (or at least i havent found any way to do it) nor change (there is only very few castle interior props)...

I simply build up the interior scene from scratch next to the original interior
I know it sounds crazy and it's embarrassing but that's how I do it.  :lol:
(Usually using the arabian_ground scene prop as floor and building up the scene with wooden walls, tavern doors etc.)

I just thought I should drop this here. I think you guys will like it.

Nordous, if you can please add it with the rest of my stuff in the first post.

Now thats the little trick i was talking of :wink:
I'll try it soon enough! thanks!

One question: Are you a wizard?

Also, are those... Purple things from Warband or added in afterwards?

There's no editing there. Everything in the pic does indeed look like that in Warband.
Btw, thnx for the positive feedback  :wink:

It's a scene prop in Warband - rose petals from the wedding scene  :smile:

Ah, well if thats not creative then I dont know what is :razz:

Am I the first one to post pics of WFaS scenes? Well, heres Smolenks, redone, the original was, well, crap surrounded by walls.
