non-faction soldier

I am a lone bannerman with a troop consisting of khergit lancers. The problem is I get very low morale for some unknown reason. I checked out my party morale status and it says that I have 127 "non-faction" troops which actually give -1 per unit giving me a total of -60 morale on the category. Why? I am pretty sure that khergit lancers are considered as faction troops

I think it means that they aren't from your faction.

Yes but you said you were a lone bannerman right? Not part of the khergit faction, so that is what gives you the penalty.

That is correct.  They count as non-faction since they are not of your faction originally.  If your culture is set to Khergit in your own kingdom then they would count as faction troops.

Damn! I want to be a lone khergit bannerman. Too bad, I guess I hve to own a town or something to do so. I just enjoy raiding all day. haha

Don't worry, you can totally do that...I used to grab an army of Swadian men-at-arms and join the Kingdom of Nords...you can negate that easily with food bonuses and such.
