narnia armour is based in the era of the 14th century when the humen where changing from chain mail to plate armour and i used narnia because i have played oblivion, and it was a easy way of getting some wat have decent image of some quality armour, also having them very expensive and rarely able to find makes the important, they dont particuly need to be strong its just the armour that helps then (and the look), this armour type was common but it wasn't as fancy obviously, because peters one of the main characters, another point is i dont know what programs i would need to mod that armour, if i did i would be tapping away at key board like mad atm instead of posting this, also the kings and lords would have some cheap **** armour they would have elegent armour that showed the enemy that they where powerful and important, also i used the name templars because i couldn't thing of any other name at the middle of the night, noting i woke up with a migrain.....

I'm going to try and make this legible since I can just barely understand what the hell you are writing about.

The armour included in my opening post was used in the 14th century during the transition from maille to plate. I used Narnia as an example as it was easier than getting an image of the specified armour than a game such as Oblivion. As Peter was one of the main characters, his armour would obviously look more elaborate than the common maille used by regular soldiers. I would like to mod that armour into the game but I lack the tools and skills to do so. Should I do so, I will also ensure that the nobility boast top notch equipment instead of riding around like militia men.

P.S
If this turns out like ****, its because I have a migraine.

Huh, I wondered what it meant in human.  I suspected something more like:
I have ADD.  Also, I am a prime example of social promotion in public schools.  Actually, I jest!  My posts are clever traps designed to break the minds of people who rely on punctuation every 1000 characters or so to prevent buffer-overrun attacks on the cerebral cortex.  Aye, I am a cortex-reaver.
Naturally, I avoid reading them because I don't want his spaghetti-code in my stack.

FOR CRYING OUT LOUD IF YOU READ MY WHOLE POST IM SAYING ITS JU&ST A NAME
THEN FOR CRYING OUT LOUD! STOP SPAMMING CAPS AND CHANGE TITLE TO "I want the old godly hired blades back!" INSTEAD OF TEMPLARS! A RELIGIOUS SOLDIER!

this idea is really not to fix up the hired blade, there perfect as they atm, but its to get like a heavy lancer/powerfull cavalry, it having em rare make em seem more powerful, they could still get 1 hitted ko.... hehe but have there life expectancy on the battlfeild high....

hehe,

Ok, I just stopped by here to offer poor Slavar a bit of support. Most of what he has said makes perfect sense if you can get over his poor spelling, grammar, sentence structure, etc. etc..

Templar = a cool sounding name, it has no relation at all to anything you ever heard about Templars in any other context. Ok, the name should probably be somthing else. Give him a break, he probably had no clue what a Templar was when he made his post, it was just the first cool name he thought of.

Armor form the movie Narnia = some pretty cool looking armor. It was a mistake to ask for anything out of this silly Disney movie to be added to Mount&Blade. Though his point had nothing to do with Narnia really. He just thought that armor looked good and while I personally don't find that armor to be so awesome, I can't say it is horribly ugly either. The armor is not bad looking and wouldn't be terribly out of place in M&B, in fact it would fit right in.

Those are the two main points that will draw endless fire, yet everyone knows what he meant so what is the point of arguing about these two details.

The real problem that I have with the whole idea is that this extra strong cavalry unit is simply unnecessary, and even if they are rare and expensive they are still potentially unbalancing.

Add more cool armors?  great!
better gear for lords and kings?  maybe great!
super strong armors and super strong cavalry units? bad idea for native.

Salvar, you should try the mod Band of Warriors Expanded for .903 as it has lots of cool different armors and weapons in it, lots of unique companions, the special "ranger" units who's gear can be customized, and many other really cool fun new unit types like "Dragon Lords" who can be join your party by being recruited from prisoners or rescued. Give it a try, it may well cure your desire for "Templars"

All he wants is the invulnerable hired blade heavy cavalry to be back. I know, we all do, let's hope we get some new plate styles in the future aong with the return of those glorious warriors.

I don't want them back
More variety of armors and weapons is something I will always be happy about though (provided they are balanced and not just ridiculous in concept, function, or appearance).

invulnerable troops though? naw, I never liked the old hired blades and I'm glad they have been tweaked.

The old hired blades were nice, but they were really out of place. No simple mercenary is going to have gear like that. They'd need to be paid more than private contracts can supply, thus they would need to be in the service of a lord in order to get enough money.

Especially for the horses.

Now that they're basically foot knights, and their armor isn't always plate or coats of plate, they make much more sense.

As for a hella-elite cavalry unit, that isn't in service to a lord?

**** no. As I just said, it makes no sense. If they were in factions, maybe, but then again if you want heavily armored knights with lances, just join Swadia. Hell, you don't even have to join the faction, just stop by some villages, pick up some recruits, and get to work training them.

The game doesn't need some unbalanced Godly kniggit prancing about on his charger with a big pointy stick (hehe, I made a pun, 'Godly,' haha, Templar, hoho).

The moment I saw the word "Narnia" i was like "NO! YOU PEOPLE HAVE TO BE MORE INTELLIGENT THAN THIS! FOR ONCE DO SOMETHING HISTORICALLY CORRECT, NOT SOME 5 CENTURIES MASHED UP INTO ONE HOLLYWOOD MOVIE!"

grr... enough of this "yes and then peter totally kicked the evil queen's ass and the good won... and im 10 years old.." ****..
Maybe add some components from Runescape?? geez.. spare me from this childishness..

Anyway, the Hired Blades should really be back as they were in .950, but their wages should really be made bigger, also it would be nice to add some stages before hired blade but after merc swordsman.. For hiring.. lets say 1000 denars per head? And wages 100 denars per week? Then we get our invulnerable cavalry back? lol

Templar? Lets add some components from the 20th century too! Like Nazis! Khegits can be Nazis! And while we're at it let's add ancient cavemen too! Just to mash up all the eras! -.-

Sorry if i missed something, I hopped from page 1 to making a reply, also my english isn't the best, you see, english isn't my native language

Make peasant women recruitable instead of kidnapping them to put in lords armies and then fighting them.

YES!

But Dark Knights that have been beefed up like in BoW Mod! I almost soiled my armor when I first fought
them...WTF! They have crossbowmen AND Infantry now! OH ****! I need more men!

I Loved it!

Oh and of COURSE they still want all the peasant women of Calradia.
