no seriously... thats all im asking...
no upgrades for farmers?

i rescuaed 3 and thought "why not, they can prove themselves" and sure, they survived 3 battles with only one casualty... but they never leveled... then i noticed that they cant level...
kinda sucks, cos i was really starting to like the guys... they killed 3 pirates on their own once!

if nothing else than maby bandits or something...

sure theyre farmers, but if they fight in enough battles they would get better no?

That would be cool if the lower classes drew from actual farmers.

also, dont forget, the majority of the non-hoplite troops were precisely that... farmers...

when not at war of course...

Well actually farmers could be hoplites to ....if they could afford the armor and weapons.
But because they usually didnt ,they had to carry other hoplite's stuff ,act as skirmishers or work in the triremes.

Well, especially Athenian farmers as they were also citizens.

Well thats what i meant,if they could afford the gear, they could fight as hoplites
