No, I didn't use any mods.
Summary: I got the game when it first came out and have been playing it for a while. I uninstalled a while ago to play other games for a while and reinstalled it when I did there was no option to play the game once it was booted up. I would open the game in steam and then it would open but I could only exit the game, watch credits, or change the game options. I uninstalled the game and reinstalled it and the problem persisted. I don't know how to fix this issue and have never seen it in another game I have played.

Good day! Try the method below.
  • Deleting the “LauncherData.xml” file located at “C:\Users\YOUR USER NAME\Documents\Mount and Blade II Bannerlord\Configs". The game will create a new one when launching again.

Hello! I have tried to fix the same problem that this thread is presenting with this method but I cannot find the LauncherData.xml file. Am I doing something wrong or is there any other way of fixing this problem? I have the game on steam.

May I ask to send me a screenshot in private messages? I'll check it out in the morning. If I can’t help, I recommend creating a separate topic on the forum so that it can be processed by tech specialists. support.

I am having this same issue. I have deleted the the Launcherdata.xml and it did not fix the issue. I have checked the mods in the launcher and it does not appear that any of the native options are selected but they will not allow me to select them to fix the issue. When i click on the box next to them nothing happens.

IF that's the case lets try a clean install.
Clean Install
The clean install is removing every single game-related file from your computer and installing the game again. Why do you need to remove the game while you just want to remove the modifications? Unfortunately, some of the modifications do not just add a new modules folder but also change or adds contents to the existent modules folder. Without a reinstall, we can't be sure those files are unchanged. To perform a Clean Install, Uninstall the game. You can do that by right-clicking the game on Steam Library and selecting Delete Local Content. Delete all folders related to the game that remains after the uninstallation. The folders that might have files inside:
Steam: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Mount & Blade II Bannerlord
Epic: C:\Program Files\Epic Games\Mount & Blade II Bannerlord
C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\Mount and Blade II Bannerlord
C:\ProgramData\Mount and Blade II BannerlordNote: You'll need to allow Windows to display hidden folders and files to see the ProgramData folder and its contents.

Could you try deleting the bin folder and verify again? It is reported to us by a player that this method worked for him.
Unfortunately this didn’t work for me either. I wonder if it has anything to do with it being installed on my external hard drive? It was once installed on my main internal drive so maybe there’s redundant files somewhere I don’t know about?
