No rules?

Ok so i have seen 2 times a server said no rules and everybody go crazy each time it ends with the server having only 1 person on the server and it turned int oa DM it gets nothing solved just telling you admins. Yes it might seem like a good idea at first but it doesnt turn out good and gets nothing solved. Everyone fights randoming gets out of hand. You cant get 3 steps without getting a arrow on ur forhead. So please dont do this again it ruined a good night of RP for a lot of people.
 
oh sorry. But i dont like the idea of no rules no one works in a group because its not real life if you die you just respawn nothing really to worry about thats why no one goes in groups. It has failed many times and making a server for it will fail. Im fine if you just want to test it out but just saying it will fail seeing how it failed twice.
 
Lol, what RP? When I said no rules there was absolutely no RP for the past 2 hours, all it was was whinny little *****es complaining that they got randomed every single time they died even if they were killed for a perfectly good in-character reason.

If people stop crying about being randomed every time they die then **** such as this would not happen.
 
It only takes a small group of good players to make a kingdom, crush the bandits and protect the weak. I like no rules

so your the genius who set it to no rules resulting in the majority of players leaving the server after hours of spawn killing and random attacking everyone.

i didnt realise this was a native server not a rp server...the rules are there to help to guide roleplay, by removing them you let the idiots of mount and blade deathmatch all they want without a reason not to. if your planning on making this server a deathmatch one, tell me now and ill create my own RP server for PW and i can guarantee ill have more players then you will

it doesnt happen, because of no rules everyone randoms everyone, if one faction appears, they just random even more, they dont roleplay anything it becomes a deathmatch server
 
I have to agree with Phoenix234. There are many that are saying they get randomed much, but i experienced something much worse than that. Because there are a bunch of people, that are assholes, killing you for a bad reason just because they dont like you etc. and they usually have a wage reason for doing it RP wise. But now that their are no rules these persons have a free passage to kill you off, being rude and assholes, and ganging up on people because there arnt any rules to keep them straight. And the kingdom thing, is not going to happen because usually the one kingdom that appears is holding them self up somewhere making laws like: "You come to our castle, we will kill you", or something like that.

Im quitting this mod for now cause of these people ruins the fun, and because the fun is the reason i play games i see no reason to keep playing it. :?

the majority of players dont like no rules, that was shown last night after it went from like 35 players to 10 after a hour of spawnkilling and stronger factions randoming everyone
 
I suppose that no rules server is set just for testing purpose - to see what do people think about it.

personally I think that with current mod features some rules are required, but not as many as RCC server usually has.

My proposition about rules:
-if you have weapon unsheathed, you are prepared for fight. Anyone can kill you without warning.
-if you don't have weapon in hands, you have to obey commands of those who have weapons - otherwise they can kill you.
-there is one universal, non-verbal command - if someone is pointing any weapon at you, it means you have to stop immediately and don't do anything, waiting for further commands. If you move, he can kill you.

And that's all you need. You are either in charge, but anyone can kill you or you are safe, but anyone can command you what to do.

Stop being rude.
You over use that word. You call artifex like that and later edit will not change that.

This is just a game. If your char die once or twice it is not end of the world. It is up to you is it end of your game. You can come here (forum) and cry, or you can go back there (game) and change something.

It will not be a lot of ppl any time Chelsea play against Liverpool  :lol:

It does sound reasonable
 
The server has lasted for 14 hours with no rules on and not a single time has someone cried about randoming except for people that were killed by Tyr cause he was just spawn killing.

The server has been organized, has had great RP, and a balanced TW+Faction members to brigand ratio.

No rules has worked out perfectly fine so far and people hire body guards more often as well. Bounties are also used more often as well because people can no long scream that they got randomed and expect the other person to be kicked.
 
Yes, the only thing I had to do was kick randoming spawnkillers.


The thing is, if you have the town watch a major faction, people will think twice before randoming because they will get pounded by these kids.

spawnkilling and large factions vs single players galore. camping all of the weapon shops for easy kills
 
I propose that we revert back to v.1b's style of not showing names. That is ENTIRELY unrealistic and causes people to target other players. We need to keep local chat, remove names over heads, and get rid of all the rules.
Not a single other mod requires any rule except for 'no spawn camping' and 'respect other people'. Why is this?
1) they have a clear objective.
        there is no reason to yell at the defenders of the castle for killing you if you are supposed to be taking over the castle.
2) Teams are obvious
        sometimes team damage is off and you know who you can trust to watch your back
3) it is physically impossible to ruin a deathmatch game type
          how do you break a rule when the point is to kill everyone?

Therefore, we should take the route of every other successful mod and native, and go without rules. We simply have to weed out the undesireables from the community.

It represents the ability to recognise people from up close; as other than the custom faces that could be obscured, players can look exactly identical - which would not happen in reality. There are ways to improve the feature, but I don't think removing it entirely is the solution to anything; dedicated griefers could still find ways to recognise their targets without much trouble, and could instead start impersonating others to be annoying. With local chat, you can only tell who the speaker is by the name in front of the message, so the names are a way of matching it to a character.
 
I have to say, when I came on when there were no rules, i also thaught WTF.

But, after a while a began to see their point.

I quote from Alastair in the server: If you people really want to roleplay, you will do it, with or without rules.

And yes, they also said it is only for a short time.

Worked fine when I was online, I came on at two occasions, one of which had about 20 TW members, the other occasion all of RCC took over the world with staffs  :mrgreen:
I've yet to see problems, but I think there should only be these rules: No Spawnkilling.
