No Qualis gem from Maltise

I was under the impression (And I could be totally wrong) that capturing heros would give the dialog option to trade their freedom for a qualis gem.  I smoked the dread legion and captured Maltise but dialog with her doesnt give me the option.  Do only certain heros give that option or is this a bug just with her?

I think in the issues thread SD said something to the effect that his initial code logic didn't work right for female uniques and is now fixed for 2.01

umm...i've defeated 3 seers (typo prolly) and never ever had any dialogue to realese them...i got my one and only gem from jatu army. Same thing with that dead knight, after defeating, no dialogues, and normal loot. I've never done any screen shots since i haven't read new issues after playing this versions and i dind't knew about those drops.

The gems do not drop from the Undead (Heretic) or Snake Cult foes...even though they are "Signature" spawns.

This includes Eyegrim, The Dread Legion (Maltise), and The Three Seers.

Why is that ?

If you defeat for instance the massive Jatu army, will you get the gem in the loot screen or do you have to get the leader of it as a prisoner to get it?

Those huge armies have a chance to give you a Qualis Gem as loot. Or more - depending on your looting skill. If you´re lucky. If you´re unlucky you won´t get one.

If you capture a Unique Spawn leader and capture him, you may ransom him for a Qualis Gem.

what is the chance of capturing that unique hero? I've managed to win with that renegade knight hero (cannot remember his name) but i didn't capture him.

I thought it was 20 percent myself.  But again, only Saxon knows for sure.  I've beaten Alaric twice solo, and haven't captured him.  Beat Boris by letting other people beat him down to 30 guys and then attacking him with 2 other lords for help.... and got a gem for my trouble.  Go figure.

For the chance to loot a gem... mh, i dont think so, i quess you get them only from captured signature-heros.

If i am wrong the chance is equal to zero anyway, i got a start-build with loot 9, defeat 30-35 signature armys the last days (the aeldarian/ithilrandir lords are your friends in pedor(<---EditENDOR)^^) and never, ever got a gem in the loot.
I am famous for my bad luck... but THAT worse?...
please tell me that no one else got a gem as a loot...

Hehe, i think so.
When i got the first netherworld charger i almost got my pants wet... then i loot a noldor spirit horse...
well, forget about the "almost" then^^.
