No new messages

very odd problem and quite aggravating! at first i thought i was because i was killing too fast causing the messages(damage,kills,etc) to go off screen, happens all the time but recently the messages just stop. like i'll go into a new battle or siege a castle or just anything but any chat command wont show up on screen. weird thing is every now and then it just comes back or just goes for no apparent reason regardless of what i am doing.

all the messages still show up in the recent messages tab like game save w/e but not on the screen =/ how am i supose to know where my enemies are, if my horse is about to die, if any of my people are dying in battle arg this sucks

bump? im playing the native expansion mod so i have a lot of dark knights who just kill and kill so messages go off screen all the time but usually i just wait and they come back but everyone know and then i think its too much and it just stops displaying

Don't bump your own thread please! 
A solution: have you checked in the Option menu that you enabled messages? Maybe these options
are disabled because of performance issues maybe? Just a thought.

Or, go to the Native Expansion forum/threads and ask for their help. They've probably seen the same problem before and can tell you how to fix it.

It's caused by the message buffer getting full. Generally waiting for a few minutes should let it clear and get back to normal. Could be the number of messages being outputted, could be the speed you're generating them.

oh no, cheating just ruins the game, completely hard earned levels and troops
