Should there stop being postcounts?

Yes arguements: There would not be spammers
No arguements: It's fun to see how active each user are
(come with more)

I would vote yes since i'm tired of seing all the spam some users make on the forum
I don't think anybody spams to raise their postcount. Having a high postcount is no achievement.

There are cases for and against - the initial idea was that a poster with many posts had been here a longer time, and thus was more experienced. That was a long time ago, however, when every user still played the game and was up-to-date on most things about it. Nowadays the answer of a Grandmaster Knight isn't guaranteed to be correct at all. Thus, the idea of retaining the ranks has been somewhat shot down.

It's also very evident that people still try to raise their post count to look more important, so I guess getting rid of it might lighten the burden of moderating - but the little weapons DO add flavor to the forum, so I'm undecided.

Some users thinks it's a achievement

We get the occasional newbie asking how to raise their postcount, or why it doesn't rise from posting in off-topic.

saying a lot of **** isn't really an achievement. So **** those users.

Probably just people with Lance envy, I personally am quite content with my short sword.

I would rather have it just say when you signed up.

At this other forum I lurk they have this system of Quality Points. You can assign one point to each post you think is well written, have good arguments, is funny, etc. This way people think twice before posting, because everyone wants to have as many Quality Points as possible.

You should go and check out the Suggestion and general discussion board with a more critical eye. But counting posts also encourages recruits to help others out in the apprentice guild though.

You're new to the internet, aren't you?

Might be an new idea

It's an old idea. And it was decided that such a method would end up being one huge popularity contest.

... that the biggest tittest of us would win. FrisianDude.

I really just don't care anymore. I may have cared a little bit when I was a recruit, as to be honest, most recruits don't get much credibility. I post because I feel like posting; not out of any other motive.

Define new. If you mean new by about 5-6 years usage of the internet then yes i'm new(no sarcasm)

What would be wrong with it if it's other users who rate the others post?

You didn't get it, right?
It IS other people who vote for your post. Voting for your post would be both obvious and stupid.

Voting is a wrong word for it. But your right. The best thing would just be no postcounts or rating from other users

I don't mind one way or another.  When I see a Grandmaster Knight, it does suggest that the person has been here quite a while and has participated a lot.  But I "judge" patrons on what they have to say, how they say it, and how they take praise and criticism.  I "judge" based on whether they are cool to patrons across the board, or stick to petty cliques and consistently downplay those who haven't been around as long.

If I had one criticism of this community, I would have to say that it's when the "in" clique bands together and either openly or indirectly thumbs their noses at someone new, or someone they don't happen to like--particularly when that someone hasn't done much to merit their contempt.  It seems very petty and "high school" to me, and isn't something I see as much of at other boards I frequent.  But ... this ain't other boards, it's TaleWorlds, and it is what it is.

I agree with Togakure. I remember that when Hidrogeno first came to the board, only a recruit, people were talking about how she was going to become a decent member of the forums. Post counts mean nothing nowadays.
