Hi, i downloaded the Mod because what got my attention was the Kingdom management system in SoD

So firstly i got the latest 4.1 invasion version, but as im new to all this i was wondering is there a non-invasion version that allows me to run a kingdom without getting bamboozled into a corner by endless hordes?

Secondly, i dont really notice any major difference in gameplay from the vanilla "native" version. What role does religion play exactly? I was hoping to start a bit of a crusade and convert a few villages to my cause, but so far i have had pot luck trying to find anything to do with religion.

Third, i have found that the quickest, and most direct way to get money in this game is by raiding villages and burning them to the ground, this way i get maybe a few hundred dinars in cash, and the goods i carry back to a city and sell off for 1000's of dinars. I understand this affects my rating with the faction that i attacked, but will it seriously effect my relations with the faction i am working for? does it have any other side-effects i should know about?

Lastly, what tips would you give in rising through the ladder to become a Lord and own villages/castles, what is the easiest way to get to become King? is it by serving lords and doing missions? or amassing tons of wealth and then building a huge army and going it alone?

btw, it would not let me post without starting a poll, so i did.

thanks for your patience guys,

If you got enough religion followers, your highest tier nobles (get nobles trough building knight chapters in castles) will change to faith troops eventually. Those troops have awesome strenght and armor.

Actually there's option in a game (Consult Oracle) which allows you to decide when invasion gonna be - so you can just make the date of invasion so far away so it'll technically never happen.
As for faith - more you have - more often your top tier nobles gonna decide to become zealous, so you'll be able to upgrade them into faith troops - which are unstoppable killing machines on battlefield.
As for village raiding - it has much more disadvantages (as relation and economic pentalties) then advantages (few coppers and bunch of junk to sell) - so I have no idea why anyone should use it at all - as for me I have more nicer ways of making money - such as doing jobs - which also  gives relations bonuses or winning tournaments. And after all you can just engage every bandit or deserters group on sight - every battle with them gives you about 1000-2000 gold in total (with sold loot and prisoners) - sea raiders are especially good for hunting. And deserters give lots of XP after battle.
As for making own kingdom - there's one very easy way, but I think it's some kind of bug cause it's just too easy. First of all you'll better have lots of honor (which seriously improves relations with some lords) and at least 1000 renown (which can be easily get by serving to one of the kings as mercenary).
When you'll have all of this - you'll need to get claimant quest and start a rebellion. While technically you'll be a vassal to a claimant - you'll have consulars in all cities your rebel kindgom gonna own (like if you'd been ruler yourself) so you'll be able to assign all your kingdom fiefs through consulars. So all you have to do is to convience as many  lords from the kingdom you're rebelling against to join your rebellion. If you'll have good relations with most of them (some persuasion skills gonna help as well) it'll be easy to get at least half of them. The good thing about when lord's decides to join you - that he takes his fief with'im, and it automatically adds to you rebel kindgom. And if your rebel kindom owns a fief - it means you can assign that fief to yourself any moment with whole garrison. Just be aware that you'll have to pay that garrison , so you'll better have some starting capital before you'll manage to build enough improvements so your fiefs gonna cover you expences. It's not so hard on that stage of the game. So when you'll defeat last enemy lord, your rebel kindgom will convert into kindgdom you were rebelling against with claimant as a king. And you'll become ordinary vassal as you'd played in native - consulars gonna dissappear - so make sure you're owning all of kindgom fiefs before wiping last enemy lord.
Last stage in this opera is to become independent and keep all of your fiefs. Only way to do so is to capture enemy castle or town - which won't be hard if you'd just defeated whole faction and when king-claimant gonna refuse to give it to you - chose option to renounce oath and keep all fiefs to yourself. After that all kingdom gonna become yours' since you're lord of all it's main fiefs (all you need is to be lord of all castles and towns since villages gonna go to you with towns) and the kindgom you renounced oath accidently understand that it has no fiefs at all. The last thing you'll need to do is to finish them off, so faction gonna be wiped for good. And, btw, if you'll still have good relations with enemy lords - there's possibility that they'll join your brand new kindgom later.
