It might not be the right place but I'd like to add that it would be neat if we could :
- assign the same formation number to different unit types (example, you can't put low level infantry and cavalry together right now, they revert to default in battle)
- modify the formations and party order just before a battle (after the dialogue which instead should be an option in the attack / send troups / modify party screen)
- split stacks of troops so that we can have 2 stacks of the same unit type under 2 formations.

In Party click on the unit on the top left there will be a little banner with a number you can click on that and switch the class. I is infantry II archers III Cavalry IV Horse Archers and so on. I usually set my tier ones as V Skirmishers and my top tier infantry as VI heavy infantry. In warband you used to be able to rename the classes. I have found when you save and exit though it changes the units back to their defaults though... That was my other issue to report.

Hello, thanks for reporting this issue. Unfortunately, we were unable to respond to this topic when it was first created. If you are still experiencing this issue with the latest live or beta versions of the game, please leave a reply to this thread so we can forward to the team for investigation.

The issue in the OP was solved, however there are still some bugs / annoyances related to Formations :
- if you take troops from a garrison, the formation of those troops is reset to the default formation even if you already had those troops in your party, in another formation (I just checked this bug in the stable branch)
- formations are not respected in armies, and we can't select who leads them
- cavalry can slow down considerably if one of them loses his mount.
- I'd like an option to make units switch formations automatically if they lose their horse / run out of ammo / lose their shield.
- at the beginning of a battle it would be neat if we could select / unselect the troops that participate, that would simplify formation management. Example : if I want to take all my units that aren't max level, it's annoying to make separate formations for those who are maxed.

Hello there. I've forwarded these issues with formations and cavalry slowdown to our development team. It would be helpful if you could share a save file where we can observe them for further investigation.

Could you please share a video where we can observe the slowdown in the cavalry? You can upload the video to upload.taleworlds.com.
Please include the link to this thread in the description box on the upload website so I can identify it.

Hi, I will mark the issue as resolved. If you encounter the same one in the latest version, please let me know. Thanks!
