No equipment refund when killed by a teammate?

If I remember correctly, dying in Warband multiplayer results in you getting some of the value of your equipment back. 20% in deathmatch, and some other percentage (40%?) divided among your teammates in other game modes, if memory serves.. Last time I checked this was in beta, but I don't recall any changes to this system.

I've noticed that I tend to be a lot poorer when I die by a teammate than when I die by an enemy, leading me to believe that this refund does not count when you are teamkilled. Is this true? And is this intentional, or a bug?

I think so, but whenever I play with teamkillers they get kicked so I haven't been able to vertify.

This could be a bug or it might be because you get killed before you can kill any enemies when getting TK'ed.
 
i actually don't know either. But i was always under the impression that if someone team killed me i should get the same load out i had before. only fair....

I remember playing TDM once, had elite armor and some idiot archer (friendly) tryed to "help" me by killing the guy i was fighting against, resulting in me getting killed by said dumbass archer. Well, i had 1000 gold afterwards (i remember saying "WTF i just lost 8k from a tk!!!!" in the chat...). And this happened to me in more than one server so it leads me to think it's Native and not server modifications.

This scenario sucks so bad. I hate it when you are TKed and then respawn with 1000K especially when it's not really your fault. TW should probably fix this issue.
 
If I respawned with 1000000 denars each time, I'd be HAPPY. What are you complaining about? :lol:
 
Default it will not do anything with your gold if your teamkilled.
You will just loose the stuff your wearing and it would take your gold number you had before you were dead, checks if it is below 1000 and if so sets it at 1000.

This is fixed in the 22nd servers, getting teamkilled refunds your full armor + weapons.
If you teamkill you loose 30% of your gold. If that amount is below 300 it will just take 300.

Also the auto kicks and bans for teamkilling are active.
 
I must say, I'm mightily impressed by the scripting on the 22nd and Ndition servers. Some nice stuff there.

But Narrator, this is a problem the devs should solve. It's inevatible you will teamkill someone by accident, or you are teamkilled by accident.

Think about this scenario:
I'm playing there with a buddy. I bought a fancy coat of plates and a full helmet, together with a great sword. We're the last 2 guys remaining against like 20 enemies, so I ask him to kill me, ergo I keep everything for the next round.

Can't that be abused?

It could, but if you kill your team mate you lose 30% of your cash as Vincenzo said. So i don't know if you have a friend who wants to lose almost a third of his fortune.
 
And on top of that you might just get auto kicked for the teamkill.

Edit:

Update on this, by a suggestion from CalenLoki.
From now on, whenever your in the defending team in siege with limited lives if you die by teamkill you won't loose a life, also when teamkilling someone as a siege defender you will loose a life.

Keep those suggestions comming.
 
I was thinking about the money abuse from friendly kills as well, but frankly I find that it pretty much ends up in you never really having time to think about doing it judging by how players play. Besides, not many are keen on getting teamkills on their tab on a server that keeps track of it and bans you if you kill too many, so it kinda solves itself out pretty nicely.
