NINJA Something like a new clan but more "laid back" RECRUITING

One man CAN do it, heres how--

1. Locate the city's water supply.
2. Dump a cart of fecal matter into the water.
3. Watch as townspeople get diarrhea, thus adding more fecal matter
4. Watch as towns health and morale slowly degrades
5  Slaughter the weakened townspeople singlehandedly (they'd be too weak to move, don't forget to bring a water-
    bottle, its thirsty work .)
6. ?????
7. PROFIT!

Well, actually I suppose that plan needs 1 man, 1 horse, and a few fecal-matter producing creatures. I suggest Platypuses

Also, best wishes to your clan!

What the bloody hell are you talking about?
Of course one single man can do a lot. Take this as an example: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_War_I

Gavrilo Princip assassinated Franz Ferdinand and caused the WWI.

But all of this has no connection with ninjas and even less with Warband, so...
The assassination was not the cause, but excuse. I mean entire europe was bottled up for war and they were waiting for the tiniest spark. The pressures were buidling up for more than hundred years.

Exactly what our history teacher told us. The assassination of Franz Ferdinand has at best started the war a tad earlier. Every nation in Europe was preparing for and expecting a large war at the time. Hence the massive arms race.

Still an excuse was needed.. and even if only for that reason it was important.

Anyways, Im from the clan KDL, and I heard we got challenged by the (dis)honorable ninja clan! My question: when are we doing this? and how many members do you have?

Sometimes one single man (or woman) with one knife, crossbow, or poison can do more harm to the enemy than thousand men with the best weapons and armour.
No, he can't. In Hollywood, yes. In videogames, yes. In history, not really .
i have to agree with him sorry....

and also please put up a member list it would really help me a lot....

Finished, stop hiding in the shadows or whatever you ninja's do and get back at us about that match..

Yes, and your point is? I think it's pretty obvious that spies are quite important. Information is important. An armed force is more efficient if it can act on information. But it is only useful if you have military strength of your own. If you do not have military power, there's little you can do with your information.

I never said one man cannot make any difference, but I refuted your claim that one assassin can make more of a difference than an army of thousand.

The assassination of Franz Ferdinand is not really a good point for this claim. The assassination itself did probably initiate the war, but once the conflict was underway, assassins hardly played a significant role.

Well..

Come to cRPG mod! There you can use the Katana. Its pretty high level there, and not easy to survive, and even more difficult for a ninja. I have a ninja  char and I have some rules for myself:

1. Ninjas always work alone (or with other Ninjas)
2. Only use the Strange sword, staffs, and throwing weapons. (Conceal a pike for cavalry)
3. Never use a shield in melee.
4. Look like a Ninja! (black boots, black hood, vaegir armor, or your own mix)

Just put "Ninja_" in front of your nick.

You better be awesome with manual blocking though, to survive the spamitar turtles. I reccomend high agility.

Its not at all the most efficient killing setup for getting frags, but its fun. And I believe that if you want to get really good you have to put up a bigger challenge! Nothing like running a big flanking maneuver and taking down archer after archer.. I want people to be stabbed from behind out of nowhere and shout ******** NINJAS!

You are welcome.

Gah, you all dont know about history...read the story of "King Lionheart", his time in Jerusalem and realize that he ordered THE ASSASINZZZ to murder der king of Jerusalem...

So Thomak forget about that incredible mod for a minute at least and tell me if you are willing to fight with other Ninjas in Clan Wars.

The assassination of an important figure head could indeed "make more of a difference than an army of thousand". Anyone who knows the story about Shingen Takeda (Shingen the Long-Legged) would know what I mean.

I recommend a great book (if you like to read) called 'Taiko'. The true story of a worthless, disrespected peasant (many called him 'Monkey') who rose up through life to become the most important, and powerful military/political figure in Japan.

But like everything in life, this argument is circumstantial.
A single assassination today may not have the same impact as it would have during the Feudal era, where so much importance was placed on a single individual. In such times, the death of a commander could often mean the retreat of an entire army.

By the way, Thomek is a great player who has earned my respect.
He plays with no shield, a 2 handed weapon, some throwing daggers and a Pike which appears from out of nowehere when I try to charge him. He's a very sneaky player who understands tactics (like the importance of flanking).

I started this topic to find some men (or women) willing to become a Ninja (or Kunoichi), that did not go very well so far.

On the other discussion I already mentionned Alexander the Great of Macedon and Hannibal of Carthage.
They weren't killed by Ninjas, but if they were, noone would have been able to replace them, noone would have been able to inspire the men like they did, noone would have been able to lead them into battle like they did, noone would have been able to find the right tactics like they did.

If Alexander hadn't died so soon, maybe he would have defeated Rome and we would live today in a completely different world.

Nowadays I agree there is no sense to kill a politician because they are all puppets that can be exchanged easily.

And I already pointed out that
1. These figures were exceptional.
2. They weren't assassinated, so they hardly make a good point.

There are indeed circumstances where an assassination would mean a lot, but they are rare. Rare enough to say that 'a man may mean more than an army of 1000' is generally false. Historical assassins would probably earn their living with silencing witnesses and the general killing of people that are a hindrance to richer people.

And I do not know Shingen Takeda. Looked it up on Wikipedia. If it's this man, then I wouldn't know how he supports the point as "The exact circumstances surrounding Takeda Shingen's death are not absolutely known." I'll admit I didn't read the article thoroughly, time to go to bed .

Except..there were. There were plenty of good men who could have taken over, they just aren't always mentioned in the history books. 'Why?' you might ask. Because when something big happens, people make stories, and stories are subject to change. Usually the stories get bigger and bigger, in a figurative way of speaking; 'making people 10feet tall and 4feet wide'.
It is a mistake to think that all 'Great' historical leaders of men were the leaders of gongfaced, weak, dumm idiots without ambition, who can ONLY be led by one particular man/woman. And I haven't even started on propaganda yet, or do you think there was no propaganda before the WW's? People who 'win' almost always get to write history and make themselves bigger, better and prettier than they are.

Now I'm not saying that when another man/woman steps in and takes over there wouldn't be any changes.. In most cases they just wouldn't be that significant as you might think.

You forgot the little detail that Hidejoši Tojotomi was a genius and had an army to command. And also a good deal of luck. And yes, I read that book.

A ninja don't have the skill to take a soldier 1 on 1 , so they use stealth, but in warband you can't jump out of a tree and disappear in darkness
