I'm not a huge fan myself. But those guys are incredible athletes.

I know I'm really going out on a limb here, but it might be because you never put any effort into understanding the game

Men in heavy, non-spiked padded armor run around a big field carrying a non-spiked egg in their hands. No elves die during the proceedings, and deaths over all rarely get above 1 per year in the professional range. Every time something vaguely interesting happens it cuts to commercial breaks, though sometimes they'll pad it out even further with parades and cheerleaders. I think I'll stick with the real thing, but if I ever do feel the need to watch some handegg action I'd just as soon play a video game of it. Those tend to flow a bit better, since the loading times aren't nearly as boring as the real life ones.
