It certainly was time for a change and I don't think it is all that bad as some make it sound.
That said, I noticed one thing, "... but when you enter a pitched battle against five dark knights, ..." - I'd love to enter a battle with 50 dark knights and lose, if only the dark knights would be back in-game

There was nothing wrong with the original site, and it looked much better than this flash rubbish. Why the hell did they go and change it? To be honest, it doesn't look professional at all, and practically screams low/non-existent budget.

Noticed the 1º mistake in the download section:
They just copied the previous text without editing to the latest version.

Some constructive critsicism:
No visual impact, good work on those gold decorated wood frames but they box up everything especially the text. Overuse of straight borders (lines) kills impact and sense of dynamism.
Dont like the coal (metal ,rock, whatever) texture in the taleworlds banner especially with all that gold/orange tones nearby.
The gold letters look bad with the red outline in wood. A darker (inwards shadow) outline aiming at a carved look should look quite better.
Also the nord could be in the left side of the text facing the mounted warrior on the right for impact.
And i miss the intext Knight

A budget of nothing would have left things the way they were, which would have been better. At the very least, someone spent some time screwing things up.

I have to agree with this. CSS and standards have come a long way, zen garden still kicks my ass. The art is nice though, it's just too dark, readability and composition are a priority.
