Hi all, and thanks to the devs for making this great mod.

I've been reading this forum for about 2 weeks, playing my game according to guides and tips I have gathered so far. A lot of the information I have found seems to be outdated though (and applies to previous versions of Pendor). I therefore have a couple questions that I hope someone can answer/update with info valid for 3.302.

1)Can I still use the Lord Escape chance tweak from Magelord? The values in scripts.txt have changed quite a bit. From what I can understand from the numbers, the chance of escape is currently set at 60 - is that correct?

Is what I think I should use but the numbers are quite different from either Magelord's posts or posts even related to Pendor specifically.

2)Could someone give me some tips on what troops I should gather in order to build a Cavalry-Only army? I like travelling fast, and I assume keeping a 100% mounted army helps with speed. I think I read that Ravenstern have the best archers and Empire the best Cavalry (from speaking with in-game NPCs). Is that what I should aim for?

3)Follow up to question above - I think I would specifically like to have one type of Mounted Archers/Crossbowmen and 2 types of Cavalry (one fast for charges on flank, and one group that would act as Infantry to protect my Archers and would basically not move much). I'm having a hell of a time reading the troop spreadsheet I found here though: (woops no link allowed)

4)Is there a logic to whom I should support, as a Vassal, depending on what troops I want to recruit? For example, if I want to recruit Empire troops, should I side with the Empire?

5)I want my party to be a village-raiding-able party. Reading the FAQ I therefore found all of the following companions:

Alistair-Adonja-Donavan-Kassim-Ediz-Riva-Alyssa-Ansen

Is that list still current? I think Ansen and one other get upset when I raid villages, although their comment on my company is still "happy" on all counts.

6)Would it work for me to get rid of Riva and add Julia + Lethaldiran? It seems they would both like 1 guy and only Lethal would dislike one other. I might be missing something though.

2.  Cavalry troops are mostly available only from the mercenaries in the taverns from the young nobles.  For factions, cavalry that you can normally access are the Ravenstern Mounted Rangers and D'Shar Raiders (only half of them are mounted, I believe.)    There's also Pendor Cavalry that you can upgrade from Pendor Recruits.

Other more powerful mounted troops such as a faction's knights can only be accessed if you belong to the culture of said faction, own a castle/town with the Training Grounds improvement, and have enough money to accept "Faction Noble Troops" into your party.

4.  Your culture of choice would affect the availability of Noble troops, but the regular troops you can recruit just by traveling to the villages.

Welcome to the PoP Boards, I'll try to help with some the questions I know..

2) Actually you're best Cavalry armies are the Noble Adventurers lines.. (you'll see them in the taverns) eventually fully upgrade they upgrade to Heroic Adventurers and that point their awesome! Sarleon also fields very good cavalry, especially their Knighthood Order - Order of the Lions.

4) Logically that makes the most sense since if you want those troops, unless you're freelancing, you would want to vassal up with them, or go the King Route then make sure you pick them as your culture. Since if you vassal with someone else, but your army is based off another faction, if your faction that you vassal goes to war with that other faction, then you won't be able to recruit those troops anymore till the war is over.

5) The companion FAQ guide is based off PoP 3.0 for the original M & B and not POP WB, however the majority of it should stay the same, if someone wishes to write up an updated companion guide based on WB, then by all means take a stab at it

6) I think the cardinal rule is no more then 8 in your party in terms of companions (though some say they can get away with 10), and only one companion dislike and not 2. Every companion has 1 like and 2 dislikes, so as long you counter the 1 dislike with the 1 companion they like, then you'll be fine. But if you have 1 companion with 2 disliked companions in your party, eventually that companion is going to leave you.

Well hope this helps.

you can do ten easy as long as you get them liking their like person before it all goes to **** (after every battle in the beginning some kind of interaction will happen like/dislike, until ****s balanced out, so fight a bunch of little easy bandit/vanskery groups and you'll be fine.).

Would you mind letting me know which ten? The list in the FAQ shows 8 for the Village Raiding party.

Wich ten i don't exactly remember but i used them. Don't get donovan, alistair, snake priestess, ansen, anja(whatever) and ediz. I think that's the way...but you can almost never keep 10 since the first time you don't pay the wages or do something evil they leave pretty fast. So if you play the full nice guy....get them but those wages and they don't  really level up

This Graph shows which companions like and dislike whom. You can actually get more than 10 (at least 12) just make sure everybody who dislikes someone in your group has someone they like in your group as well. In my experience what you do doesn't affect them much, it's your party that makes all the difference. As long as you don't lose half your troops in every second battle, neglect to pay their wages or run around without food all the time you should have no problems. And if you do that, you'll have bigger problems than companions leaving anyway.

Also I have a few questions about playing POP 3.2 with WB as well and didn't want to open a new thread since they are relatively minor. Couldn't find any results with the search function unfortunately.

My first question is the same as your first which unfortunately nobody has addressed yet. In POP 2.X I used this tweak all the time. Some ppl might consider it cheating but I really don't like to reload 3 times every time I kill a spawn just because they escape all the time. And since I'm a power gamer, getting as many gems as possible to pump up my stats is one of the major goals for me in POP.

I also have a question about the unique spawns hired by some faction leaders as mercenaries: Will it count as an attack against one of the lords of the kingdom if I attack such a spawn?

And last but not least: Does anyone know where I can find the stats of the legendary items the kings have? How high is the probability of getting them when fighting the kings with an armie about 2/3 as large as theirs and with looting 10+4 ? Does the Bonus from having Looting on your main char even increase the looting score beyond 10?

It's 14, I don't know why it's not in FAQ, by it's not my problem

1. Its not recommended to mess with the txt files on your own. Use TweakMB instead, you can use it to tweak the escape rate.
