New to Mount and Blade. Looking for Guild.

Recruit
I am completely new. I have some experience in these type of games (Darkfall, Age of Chivalry etc...). I crave to learn and be good. My love for games stems from two things: game mechanics and community.

I am looking for a small to medium guild of people who like to play consistently but have no strict schedule (I am 28 and am getting married in October so sometimes I just don't have the ability to get on my computer whenever I want...a tragedy I assure you...I miss college). I am willing to put time and effort into learning and getting to know a close knit group of players who have similar goals.

I seek:

1. Instruction
2. Coordination
3. Commitment
4. Good Attitudes
5. Communication

I obviously expect to suck for a little while but eventually I would like to understand all the maps, vantage points, tactics and become proficient in certain weapons and classes and understand all of them to the point where I can evaluate situations on the fly and understand what is a winning engagement and what isn't.

Basically I am asking for an utopia. Anyone looking for a noob who wants to learn and be good?

I am 28, have a microphone and headset, know how to use all voice comms (mumble, ts, vent, skype).

Thanks,
Bel

Take a look there. Review each clan and their thread. Better to have you look at each clan and see which one suits you, rather than have each clan come to you and try to guess in what way you fit in.

Thanks, I have actually checked all the clans and their websites. I am just hesitant to start the recruitment process for any of them with having zero M&B experience. So I felt like putting myself out there and letting people who think I might fit in have me over on their voice comms and play a few games and see if they would like my start the recruitment process.

I have no delusions of grandeur, I am probably going to suck and so I am not going to sign up and see if I can get a spot I probably don't deserve at the moment

The Rebels take recruits of all skill levels and are willing to train.  We have our own practice server with several practices a week that you can attend to better yourself but are not required to do so.  We are more concerned about attitude, maturity and commitment of incoming members.  I feel that nearly anyone can be trained.  I like the fact that you already have voice comms.  I play late night quite a bit myself.

GK takes a lot of new recruits as well.

I have been really impressed by how this community is so nice and not toxic...as a 3 year player of League of Legends this is a surprising and welcomed paradigm shift! Thanks so much for all the suggestions thus far!

It might actually be worth starting a "Looking for a Clan!" thread, so that clans can come in and poach new members.

I have found it really useful! Thank you all for being so welcoming and reaching out to me and offering to train and help me learn this very complex game...Last night I spent like 4 hours learning all about manual blocks, outfitting infantry for different factions, understanding how to stop cavalry, and how never to be caught out in an open field as an archer....no amounts of manual blocking will save an archer in an open field...

I am sure I will get to know all of ya'll better in the coming weeks, maybe one day I can go into the POM server...for now I will stick to Kings of the North and be challenged by my noobiness

Lord, cleanseth this sinner for he hath sinned.

Haha, LoL is a really fun and competitive game. It requires a completely different use of the mouse which has made it impossible for me to manually block but overall if LoL's community wasn't rancid I don't know if anyone could peel me away from it!

You might get more practice in TDM servers than battle servers because you respawn quickly (allowing more play time and thus more time to get better). You might also be interested in THIS THREAD to better yourself. As for clan searching, same opinion as others. You'll find clan people on POM more often than Knights of the North. Good luck!

Welp, I decided to join TMW. Everyone has been really awesome and helpful and hopefully I have learned a lot and people will soon fear me rather than think "free kill!"

Thanks again for all the suggestions and thoughts
