Rules
1. This is a server where the rules are enforced by an active team of admins and where repeat offenders are permanently banned.

2. The admin's word is final. If you have an issue with it does not argue with the admin but post in the steam group under the appropriate discussion. Other admins will review your issue and decide whether or not the former admin's call was justifiable or not.

3. Please be respectful to all players. If you have issues with a player flag it to an admin so that it can be resolved. We are all here to have fun and the fun starts with all players acting like decent human beings.

4. No RDMs under any circumstance. Note the following exception applies to this rule:
a) Killing someone belonging to the "Highwaymen" faction without provocation does not count as RDM. This also works vice-versa.

5. Immigrants may not be attacked, robbed or harassed in any manner. Likewise, the immigrant faction cannot be used for hostile actions whatsoever. Hostile is defined as any action that results in loss, harm, or grief to other players.

6. No attacking players that do not belong to a hostile faction. Note the following exceptions apply to this rule:sad:edited)
a) non-hostile faction member strikes/shoots first
b) non-hostile faction member steals a cart, horse/donkey, or from a fort belonging to another faction
c) non-hostile faction member damages the belongings of another faction (ie. horses, donkeys, fort gates)

7. Players may not declare war on factions that contain less than 5 people or attack/harass/rob them in any way while said members are inside their settlement. To do so will result in a fade on the first offense, a temp ban on the second and a perma ban on the third. The following exceptions to this rule apply:
a) Both factions, irrespective of a number of members, agree in global chat to declare war on each other. This would count as a "friendly war" and is permitted.
b)The factions happen to already be at war with each other (note default wars, where one or both factions are still carrying default names such as red faction, blue faction etc., are not valid wars and must be peaced).
c)A faction with more than 5 members at the start of a "legal" war experiences a "loss of men" during the war (players of that faction logging out of the server for example). The war may continue regardless of the "less than 5 men to a faction" if the other faction still wishes it. Note that getting players to join a faction just so you may declare war on them is a douche thing to do and an admin will intervene.
d)One of the factions is "Highwaymen". Highwaymen may attack, rob and harass as they please as long as the players are outside of their settlement. Highwaymen cannot assault settlements (damage gates, loot etc.) nor kill players inside a settlement unless the faction that owns it has more than 5 players. Inside a settlement includes players on the fort's walls.
8. Halting (and robbing) players must be done in local chat as follows: "Halt (player name)". You don't have to use the full name of a player but it has to be clear enough for that player to understand that you are referring to them and only them (ex. if a player's tag is LizardmanTheUndefeated, saying "Halt Lizard" is perfectly acceptable as long as no other player on the server at that time has a similar tag to "Lizard").
Note the following must be respected when halting:
a) You must state the individual's name clearly. Using their clan tag is not sufficient.
b) You may ask for a maximum of 3000 gold per halt. All demands must be reasonable. Admins have discretion on whether a demand is reasonable or not.
c) You cannot halt the same player within 5 minutes of priorly halting them (except if the prior halt scenario ended with the player not complying with your demands and you killing them).
d) You cannot halt immigrants.
e) Any players other than those belonging to the "Highwaymen" faction can only halt if they are in a group of 2 or more at the time of the halt.
9. After being halted a player has 10 seconds to comply with what is requested of them. If the halted complies with the demand the halter cannot kill them. Doing so is RDM. The halted may call for help in local chat only. Nearby players may choose to respond to the call for help or ignore it. After the time is up the halter may do as they please with the halted. They cannot kill the halted unless the halted:
a) Aims, strikes, fires at them
b) Runs away
c) Does not comply within the 10 second allowance
d) Calls for help

10. To declare war a reason must be stated. Starting wars for no reason will result in a fade on the first offence and a temp ban on further offences. Valid reasons for starting a war include: an attack (including robbery) on a faction's member by another faction, a diplomatic insult (must be delivered by a messenger and spoken in local chat with "DIPLOMATIC INSULT:" prior to the message), treason, religious zeal, border disputes etc. Note that previous hostilities (PH) is NOT a valid war reason. A faction may re-declare war on a faction that just made peace with them provided it is immediate and that no agreement to peace was reached when the first peace was handed down. All faction members must be within their fort's walls prior to declaring war. Insults that do not have "DIPLOMATIC INSULT" ahead of the text and are not delivered in local chat are not valid reasons for war. All war declarations must be compatible with Rule 7 to be valid.
11. All global chat must be conducted in English. Admin will issue multiple warnings and if they go unheeded they may kick you from the server or temp ban you if you spam.

12. Don't spam in global chat, it will get you temp banned.

13. Don't make your faction name spam-like, it will get you temp banned.

14. Factions may form a perimeter during a war to turn away any non-hostile players who may wander into the warzone. If a player refuses to heed the warzone warning they are likely to get killed in the crossfire.

15. Once a player dies their past deeds cancel out. This means if a Highwayman has robbed and murdered a player said player cannot exact their revenge (no revenge rule).

16. Highwaymen must wear their dedicated Highwaymen uniform. Natives must wear native uniform (including native head). Engaging players in combat or any other action that may cause them loss or harm while not wearing said uniform will result in a fade the first time and a temp ban the second time. Repeat offences will result in perm ban.
The rule is not applied to natives who are fighting in their own fort during a siege.
17. Highwaymen may act as "hired guns" at any point. To do so declare that you are a "gun for hire" in global. If you are hired you are not required to join the faction that hired you and all dealings can be done in local chat. A hired gun can assassinate, rob, loot, spy on another faction/individual if they are honest. Alternatively they can take the money and sell themselves to their original target to double-cross their ex-employers. Rule 7 applies (especially section d). If the highwayman joins a faction all contracts become void.

18. Kicking, punching, aiming or running someone over with a horse more than once are all "provocations". If any or all provocations are used the player they are done to has the right to attack the "offending" player .

19. Blocking access to a fort, bridge or any other part of the map with cart will result in a warning on the first instance and a temp ban on future offences. Likewise stealing carts and leaving them out in the middle of the ocean will get you banned for trolling.
20. Killing your own faction members or halting them will result in a fade on the 1st offence and a temp ban on the 2nd. If you don't want them in your faction, faction lord can kick them out and send them on their way.

21. Where a rule seems ambiguous it is up to the admin to interpret it, not for you to debate it. That is what the discussion section in the steam group is for. Admins will kick you off the server if you pollute global chat with endless arguing. Likewise if an admin believes you are loop-holeing a rule and using the loophole is ruining the positive experience of the game they may also intervene.

22. Have fun on the server!

FYI Richard just make sure you merge or delete the other server thread, or post the opening as a reply on the former thread. TW forum rules don’t allow same post regardless of where on the forums. :p
