LOL
Fix the game first, and then talk about console port. Get your priority straight FFS.

As emrozdemir already pointed out, we offer gamepad support as an accessibility feature. But, naturally, some of this work also allows us to lay the groundwork for the console release of the game in the distant future.

That being said, we are listening to the feedback on this and hope to come up with a solution that works for everyone, we just ask that you keep it constructive.

I for one love you guys, regardless of issues. Remember we're all talking in text form which we are not evolved for, so all pleasantries and a huge chunk of communication is lost. People get frustrated etc. Please try to see past any aggressive language or things like that, it's probably just surface and appearance stuff...

I'd like to add, you developers should see that this game is important, quite so, to many people. Otherwise they wouldn't be engaging and complaining. This should be heart warming to you guys.

I hope the devs realize that some of us have 100's- 1000's of hours in the game and throwing a change like this is going to piss off a lot of people because we have everything memorized. We're now forced to memorize new keys for commands, making changes like this optional would probably be the best decision. I know it would be more work but so many other games offer different setups for kb&m vs gamepads I see no reason that TW couldn't do it.

Accessibility and Console gaming are usually sentences found close to each other and the detriment to serious PC gamers everywhere. Ive been around this racket for a good 40 years and know all the harbingers

Tbf Callum I use a game pad for some games, namely action games but games that involve multiple commands and where aiming needs to be precise I wouldn't touch a game pad in a million years, and I'd say I'm not alone in that. This is obviously about making the game accessible to consoles and while I have no issues with that I also think that should be to much closer to release time. I seriously have to question TW priorities at this point because there are much more pressing concerns for the game than making the game accessible to gamepads.

You don't need precision if you have auto-aim. Coming up next in the Bad Answers To Good Questions saga.

I don't mind it as I knew it was going to just be there for testing purposes, but clearly most people don't realize this.

I think what could have made this process a whole lot easier for us and you guys at TW was some more communication about it beforehand. Maybe in the future when you implement features that you plan to have options on but need to test a specific option you guys should make a thread about it to relay that information. Then players know upfront that if they are playing the beta they are going to be asked to test a specific feature (lets be honest tho, anyone playing on beta should already expect this).

It sucks to see most feedback is "give us the option to use the bar" when you guys already plan to do that, but didn't make it obvious enough to everyone (only people closely following seem to know).

I plan to provide feedback on it once I get some more time with it, although I don't use a gamepad.

"give us the option to use the bar"
Yes, at least give us the option to go the bar. This covid stuff ****ing sucks man. I want to go to the bar, have inane conversations with strangers and get ****ing drunk. Enough with this covid **** already.

Well said!

The new command menu is beyond me. I cant even get my soldiers to face the right direction in battle. How am i missing the option how to tell my men which direction to look at?

@TW: please revert the menu. the whole thing is absolute ****

Is that constructive enough?

You press F1 like giving a movement order.

For some reason I had it in my head it would slow time when open and I'd be able to use the mouse to select the option I wanted rather than it still being F key based. It's still a bit finicky doing it real time when you don't know the keys.

I quite like the radial ui design and i struggling to see what all the fuss is about tbh. I felt it was always a pain in the ass having to look up to the top of the screen to issue orders when im trying to focus on moving etc.. in the center of the screen, it keeps your eyes in the sweet spot better i find.

What i would like to see added to commands is Slo-mo when opening order menu, 1/4 speed or somthing liek that, similar to RDR2 or GTA if u know what i mean. Im forever running into trees, rocks and other objects while issuing orders on my horse and you all know that you do too

You would probably have to make it a toggle though, for all of those who struggle to adapt to change.
