New player - Which mods?

I'm just starting M&B and I'm wondering if there are any mods that I should go ahead and install.

There seem to be quite a bit and I'm not sure which simply focus on improving the game itself - improved textures, scripting, bug fixes, etc etc. For now, I don't think I want to go too crazy with custom content that wasn't originally implemented - mainly improvements that've been generally accepted by most.

More metal sound/ambient soundtrack
are some of the must install ones.

Awesome, thanks! I wasn't too sure about adding the sound packs, but I'll go ahead and install that one and give it a try.


Also, is Dall's HD overhaul a good addition? Or should I just go with a combination of GE 2.5 and Unique Armory 1.1?

Well its really upto you, you might like the style or not.
You can try GE and uninstall if you like and switch back to Dall's. If you go with GE you will need additional packs such as Calradia Map Makeover/Calradia Map Refinement/Face Textures etc cuz as far as i know Dall's pack cghanges them all.

Here is a good mod, it doesn't get to far from native.
But I think it is fairly good if your not trying to get to far from native. ^^
