New PC, NT Kernel & System trouble

So, I recently bought myself a new PC in seperate parts and put it together over the weekend. It's been running really nice, The Witcher 2 and Battlefield 3 run perfect. I have one problem, though. Whenever I put my PC into standby mode, it won't wake up from it anymore, and I have to turn off the power source, then turn it on normally. However, when I do that and get into Windows 7 (64 bit), my network won't get a connection to the internet, and the NT Kernel & System takes up 25% of my CPU capacity (which I guess is fully one of the four cores my CPU has).

What could be causing this problem?

Typically it's to do with the Graphics. ATI right? Just guessing because ATI has it's problems and performance issues which are "overcome" by ATI standards by just adding more processors.
